I pick up a tiny stick and a bigger one. " See Periwinkle likes fetch!" I toss the bigger branch just a little bit away. Then I toss the tiny one only a few feet. " Now you go get the twig. If you bring it back I will give you a nice scratch."

I play a bit more with the Nixe hatchling and occationaly toss a stick for Periwinkle to get. I look around wondering how much time has passed.
