Camilla found herself becoming more at ease talking to Quruxus. It surprised her greatly, but she supposed after everything that she'd been through, getting to stand in a forest having a pleasant (though strange...) conversation was a welcome relief.
"Yes," she said nodding her head slightly, "I suppose for most it seems an odd notion. Unfortunately I discovered that the direction my life has been heading since I was born was not what I wanted. Now I-"

No sooner had you let out your scream than you felt the jaws of the wild beast release. All you saw was a flash of pink, and then blood was everywhere. You felt slightly dizzy for a moment, and then your vision was cleared. You looked out in front of you and saw that Quruxus had tackled the creature and sunk her abnormally sharp teeth into its throat, hitting an artery and causing quite a lot of blood to cover the clearing. Now, she was sitting back and licking her reddened lips. "You okay?" she asked.

Screaming felt useless, but it wasn't as though Camilla had ever been taught how to fight or defend herself, nor had she ever been given reason to. She supposed running away from home had been a sort of defense, but being attacked by a wild animal was certainly something altogether different.
When she became aware that the jaguar had let go very suddenly, Camilla looked up just in time to see Quruxus tear into the beast's throat. She barely avoided being sprayed by the blood, but there was still plenty of it to be seen. She stilled herself thinking she might become light-headed at the sight of so much gore, but she simply found herself feeling relieved that the thing was dead. Even seeing Quruxus crouched down with her mouth covered in blood did not seem to bother her.
"I believe I am mostly okay," she said, giving a wince of pain, "Though my arm probably needs tending to."

"Most likely," Quruxus nodded as she reached down and took a bite of one of the jaguar's front legs. "Bright side is," she grinned at you, bloody teeth very visible. "I got dinner. Unfortunately for you, I don't have anything you can use for that injury. I don't really carry a lot around with me. My momma never did, either," she shrugged before taking another bite of jaguar leg.

Camilla surprised herself further by not being deterred when Quruxus took a large bite out of the jaguar's leg. It was not a familiar sight but it did not make her feel ill. She reached out and put her hand on the trunk of the nearest tree so as to lower herself to the ground. Now that the adrenaline was fading the pain in her arm was becoming much greater.
"Yes, well I'm glad you definitely won't need to eat me," she said with as much humor as she could muster, which wasn't much, "And I have a torn up dress in my satchel if you would be so kind as to grab it for me." It seemed oddly fitting, she thought as she sat there waiting for Qur's assistance. Using the wedding dress as a bandage seemed like the final nail in the coffin of her former life.

Quruxus nodded and crossed over to your satchel, digging through it for a moment before bringing her pink hand back out, torn-up dress in her grasp. She frowned as she examined the material. "This looks like something from an old folktale my momma would tell me. Said the land peoples liked to choose one other person and be bound to them for life. I didn't believe her, naturally," she grinned that infectiously beautiful smile of hers as she approached you and began wrapping up your arm in the symbolic linen.

Ochyllyss gave a cry in her heart. I shouldnt have scared him... She smiled, "That's right," She said, "But I won't hurt you...You see, I just wanted to help you...I'm new to this town, and I'm equally lost," She stepped backwards, and scolded herself for being intimidating. Orchyllyss Salihn...the name was terrifying enough if he was an eol...or a sterrinoch, for that matter.

The boy frowned and looked away. "I'm not lost, and I don't need help," he insisted. "My dad said he'd be back soon," he added, though he was wringing his hands together in a nervous manner. "He said it would be no more than a day or two until he'd be back for me. And he will. I know it!"

Ochyllyss looked down, slightly stunned. I must ask him for no more...just a young boy..."If you insist so," She said, sighing sadly. "Tell me if you ever need anything..." She started to walk away. I wonder if he lost his father...Lost... She suddenly turned back quickly. "Have you seen a leaf bat, by chance, anywhere around here?"

Feeling like laughing as something Camilla couldn't believe was happening. Laughter had essentially been taken from her life, and not even just by the horrendous events from the last few days. If she had tried laughing as a child her mother had corrected her, saying it was not ladylike and called undue attention to herself. However, Quruxus's reaction to the tattered wedding dress amused her greatly.
"A folktale, hm?" she said, smiling slightly through her grimace of pain and trying to stay as still as possible while Qur bound her wound, "Well, I can tell you for us humans it is not a folktale. It called getting married, and that dress is the type of thing the girl wears for the occasion."
