"I doubt that you'd live here. You came out of the water, so I'm guessing at a larger body somewhere. My forest doesn't really have those, and I would've noticed you by now if you lived here." I say, mostly making it up. I prefer to live in silence, as it soothes my nerves and makes me less of a wreck. As I see her grow the plant, I internally snort. A weakling.

She rolled her eyes. "Fine. I'll be going then." She shot him one last glare before walked back in the direction she came, listening to the stories the birds were telling each other. If she hadn't controlled her anger, she could have grown a vine at least as tall as her. Of course, it was nothing compared to the powers of an actual elf but it was something.

I roll my eyes as she walks away, and jump into the air, landing right in front of her.
"I had one more question," I say, rolling my shoulders a little bit, my red eyes glinting in the sunlight.

She didn't show how startled she was and stood, planting her hands on her hips. "What do you want?" Tempest already was prepared to strangle him with a vine but decided against it. As terrible as he seemed, some company other than the animals was needed.

"Why are you in my woods?" I ask, lifting an eyebrow at her, and folding my large wings neatly on my back. I tense a little bit, ready to fight if needs must.

She growled. "Okay, if you really want to know- I live in the small lake nearby, the one next to a waterfall. I was just exploring the woods."

"Don't come near my home again, I don't want more blood on my hands, nor any more traitorous scum anywhere near me," I say, not trusting her. I hope she can understand that I fell, that I am not myself. The new wings gleam in the fading light, a menacing shadow behind me. I feel the urge to hit something, to let out my fear and loneliness, to scream, to get it out of me. Four long years I've been alone. The first person I meet, I threaten and call traitorous scum. What am I doing with myself?

She frowned, her blue eyes flashing green for a second. "Then don't come after me," she replied. Her hands curled into fists and a long, green vine lifted of the ground, looming over her like a snake. Turning, she sprinted off towards the lake.

I walk back home through the dark forest, my own voice echoing through my head. Don't come near my home again, I don't want more blood on my hands, nor any more traitorous scum anywhere near me
Don't , Scum, Blood , Home.
The words run through my head, making my need to hit something so intense, I turn and punch the tree next to me. It makes a loud groaning noise as it falls over, dying. I look down at my knuckles, seeing torn flesh and exposed bone. I don't feel the pain as I inspect the wound, only when I sit down at home to clean and bandage it do I get a sensation of pain so intense, I almost fall out of my chair. I grab the table and pull myself upright. Gasping, I finish cleaning the self-imposed wound and bandage it. When done, I walk down the halls in search of something to eat. I find a half loaf of bread, and tear into it hungrily. Traitor, near me
I try to ignore my thoughts, the wrench of dread I get when I close my eyes. "Near my home."
Eventually, I give up. "Blood on my hands, again."

"Hmm never seen anything like you before." Slowly she put her sword away and bent down to look at the animal. "You got a name?"
