Glad you're going in for the surgery! And it can be scary, but surgery isn't all that bad... Just the hospital food. (Lol)
Anyway, I wish the best for you! =3 *hugs* Take care of yourself.

I believe my surgery is concidered to be an out-patient surgery, and thankfully my local hospital's food isn't all that bad. Though I don't think I'll be having any hospital food this time(unlike after I had Cordie).
I know, most surgeries go on without an problem...but hospitals/dr.s, and medical settings being a PTSD trigger is most of what is making me scared. My fiance will be with me though, and I'll be asleep the whole time the surgeon is opperating so that's good. I'm wondering how long it's long to take though.
Thanks Sonic. *hugs back* I'll do my best, my allergies are driving me nuts lately.

Hello everyone! Well it's 6 days till my wrist surgery...and the nervousness is starting to set back in...especially with what happened yesterday(which I'll talk about in another update, in purple cause it's unrelated to my surgery).
I'm going to be taking a book with me while I'm waiting to go in for my surgery, but I'm not sure what book I want to take with me to help with my panic attack that is bound to happen(cause medical settings, and drs are both triggers for my PTSD, and Panic Disorder.
I have three possible books I may take with me:
Cabal by Clive Barker
The Poet by Michael Connelly
OR
Mortal Danger by Ann Rule(a true crime case compilation)
Which basically means I have two really well written books to study how to inprove my writing while I enjoy a great engaging story OR I can study real life crimes and get a better idea on how to make my characters more realistic in their motives and how they handle situations. I'm working on sorting out some of the details of my story so that when my wrist is fully recovered I can write down my more finalized ideas. My book(s) are a series of supernatural-horror/dark fantasy/mystery blend. It's also going to be a graphic novel(like Sin City, Watchmen, or V for Vendetta just to name a few examples of graphic novels). The Poet by Michael Connelly is a mystery/fictional crime novel that I have read a few times now, but it is so well written, and engaging that I have learned alot from it so far. Then there is Cabal by Clive Barker which is a great horror novel, of which is my favorite one written by Mr. Barker. He is great with imagery in his books so I could learn alot from rereading Cabal too.
IF you guys could just place votes by title I think that would help me pick which book goes with me, thanks.
I'm still not sure how long the surgery will take(I'll be calling them on Monday to see if I can get an idea of the duration of the surgery), nor am I sure what anesthetic will be used so I'll be asking about that too.
Hopefully it wont take more than a couple of hours, cause I'll want to get home asap so I can eat and relax.
Trigger Warning, just in case...
Well, for me yesterday was rather cruddy. I had a Social Services apointment yesterday, and my new worker is a VERY incompetent lady! Like so much so she shouldn't be in that profession...
She had not one, not two, but THREE chances to tell me that my fiance needed to be there with me...note this is AFTER I was already there with her AT the appointment! I had to WALK there as it was with my cane too...this lady had the nerve to suggest that I have my fiance WALK(which he can't because his knees are severely damaged so just walking to the library or the mailbox is about the extent of his abilities, and he CANNOT walk UP hills at all! Oh and that would have ment that Cordie would have had to been walked down there too in the heat....
She messed up the whole stinking appointment and she wouldn't pay for a cab to bring my fiance cause...well she just wouldnt. I explained to her that over the next 6 weeks that we are really busy and she just refused to accept the fact that the time when we are 100% not going to be super busy is in September. Oh and to make matters worse she had the nerve to say she didn't like my attitude, well sorry but I'm not known to stand for incompetency in a job that is THAT important. She won't even be in the last week of this month which had my last not booked day in it. She's just to dpumb to have a job that controles the ability for people to care for their families. I have plans to contact her supervisor and file a formal complaint, and recomend that she gets sensitivity training on how to appropriately speak with people that are disabled, especially those with mental disabilities like PTSD, and Panic Disorder. She verbily assulted me and was condesending, she triggered a Panic Attack which very well could have snowballed far beyond AR and nausea...more commonly my Panic Attacks lead to very violent asthma attacks...and if I would have had an asthma attack it would have been off to the hospital for me.... She clearly has no place having her job especially with the fact that she can't do it correctly. I'll also be placing a request for a new worker because I WILL not be forced into haing some one that doesn't know how to do their work handling my case... I will not continue to be forced to deal with some one that triggered an attack that had it percisted could have placed me in the hospital...
Did I mention that because of her big mess up I basically woke up at 7:30 for nothing!? Which by the way really made Cordie REALLY mad!!! I HATE the fact that people like that can be allowed to work in a position that is so important. Hopefully my report is taken seriously and they really look at this lady as being the problem she really is.

Oh, good grief!
People like that are just AWFUL!!!
Ugh. You make that complaint asap.
People like that shouldn't have jobs like those. It just doesn't work.
There isn't anything worse that incompitants who think they know it all. Sheesh...
And this is from someone who rarely interacts with one or the other.
I literally have no words for people like that.
Its people like those who often just make me utterly ticked off after one sentence. And I'm pretty temperant.
I hope you can get someone else who's better for you, LDD.

Yeah, my last worker was great...she was nice, knew her job, AND was totally capible for doing her job. My last worker always returned my calls, and answered my questions. My last worker naver failed to relay improtaint info, and was very nice to talk with/see.
This new worker I didn't even get the notification letter telling me that I was getting a new one... not to mention this lady clearly has issues with disabled people or people that need assistance from Social Services. I could read her via her body language and facial expressions... When she said she was sorry about her mess up...it was a clear lie...every time she said sorry was a lie... How so I know, she couldn't maintain eye contact past 3 seconds and would glance to the left, both are common desplays if some one lying.
She talked down to me too, like I was less of a person because I'm disabled...I was felling threatened by her...and she did verbily assult me, which caused the attack and hightened stress(My daily stress levels are already elevated above normal because of my PTSD/Panic Disorder and my chronic pain... couple that with being verbally attacked and yeah I'm not going to be nice...because at that point you are clearly not going to treat me like a person so I tend to bite back(with words), though to be fair if that plexiglass hadnt have been there I have no idea what my worker would have done...
I was sick for the whole remainder of the day, and the nap I had didnt help much....
But when my fiance's mom hears abou this....it won't be good for the worker.... Kathy doesn't like when her family gets messed with.

I'll be ok Honey.
I really just needed to vent a bit and make sure that I figure out how to word my formal complaint about my social service worker.
*hugs back*
