The bay, by most standards would not be called large. However, it would not be called small either. The bay has four main areas:

The shore: the shore is littered with shallow tide pools, in which pretty shells and sea glass can be found. Mer often go here to find small mollusks and starfish.

The rocks: the rocks are large, smooth rocks jutting out of the sea, warmed by the sun. mer go here to lay on the rocks and sleep or sunbathe.

The caves: the caves lining one wall of the bay is where the mer take up residence, sleeping and making their homes inside the cave. Mer usually only keep a smooth, clean space to sleep on and whatever baubles and trinkets they may have collected.

Open area: the open area consists of a large open space where mer like to swim and hunt, and the docks, where the humans come and try to feed the mer bay.

Some of the mer in the area have been there for generations, while others are new to the bay. There is a constant flow of mer leaving and entering the bay, including strangers and the children of the mer who chose to live in the bay.

Pups/relationships are allowed, so long as both players agree to it. Mer usually have a pup every year, and by the end of the year they either leave to find somewhere else to live or stay in the area. Mer pups age much faster than humans and are ready to leave their parents at just a year old so that a mer can have another pup that season.
The MPS stands for the mer protective services, and they are the organization in charge of funding all the research pertaining to mer. The MPS usually dont visit the smaller facilities such as the one at this bay, but certain exceptions can be made.

The lead scientists in the MPS is a kind woman by the name of Angela Zeigler, a short blond woman who takes time to feed each mer in the facilities care. She spends most of her time either in her lab or in the visitors center with the mer.

Tenebris is chilling at the bottom of the bay, looking up at the bright surface of the water. Too bright. The sun and the light is unwelcoming, almost painful to him. He much prefers the shadows, and the depths, and the dark.

yawning, i sit up, nudging Gabriel next to me. he cracks one eye open, looking up at me questioningly. "what is it?" he asks, sitting up and stretching. "it's noon already, we should get something to eat" i tell him. he whines, resting his head on my shoulder and clinging to me. "could you hunt for me?" he asks, giving me puppy eyes. i sigh, smiling. "alright" i agree, prying him off of me and slipping into the water.

Gabriel watches from the safety of the rock as i slip into the water, narrowly missing a mer on the seafloor staring directly at the sun as i do so. "sorry!" i yelp, crashing into the sand beside him. he's a glowlight mer, and when i slam into the ground next to him he shines bright in alarm, and the cecaelia next to me starts, swimming off a few feet before realizing what happened. "sorry moira" i cringe, giving her a smile. the red haired cecaelia huffs, swimming off in the direction of the docks.

Malis was in the caves staying way from humans from seeing him and feeling much safer in the caves then in the open.

Nana was in open area playing with some of the lionfish.

Nella swished her tail as she peeked out of her cave, she was always an early bird if you wanna say,she climbed out slowly and started swimming down next to the rocks looking around, she didnt want to be around humans, she got down to a level of darkness before spotting some glowfish and smiling

quickly darting away from the mer i just nearly ran into, i dart off in the direction of a school of fish near a group of lionfish, snatching a fish out of the water and quickly biting into it, trashing it around until it stills and the water is clouded with blood.

i bring the fish back to Gabriel, handing it to him. he thanks me with a peck on the cheek, taking the fish and digging into it. "thank you Jack" he says, looking up at me through his thick lashes. i roll my eyes, slipping back into the water for some food for myself.

Nella was getting hungry after her morning play with her glow fish, she went up to the hunting area and seen that someone was here before, she wanted to hurry up, she darted for a few small fishes and carryed the dead ones in her arms as she headed back to her cave to eat in peace

Nana sees some blood but shrugs knowing that it was another mer hunting. She continue to play with the lionfish mers.

Malis sighed in the comforts of the cave.

I yawn waking up time to srt the day i say yawning as i get ready to go i swim to the ocean floor to find food i sucessfully nabing a fish i nibble on the fish happily ........

Alexander was alone at the bottom of the sea in the facility sotting down on a large rock in his grey fingers as a large half eaten seasnale his oil black (shade of black] coloured tail was laid out in front of him while his white hair moved around his head freely due to the water a large deep sea fish that looked more like nightmare fuel swam near him and he bared his teeth and hissed at it scaring it off assuming that it was after his meal. The Deepsea merman finished his meal and picked up a large seashell that used to belong to his seasnale meal that was sat beside him and swam up closer to the serface and smirked seeing a pink tailed female mermaid he was curious about and trying to befriend her he throw the shell at her.

[Alexander has never meet a top side mer and most run away from him except Georgia so he more curious]

Georgia swam in the open area her extremely long blonde hair rippled around her as she was pruned her light pink coloured scales removing the dead and damaged ones so new ones could grow she more or less ignored the others who swam around her that was untill a large seashell thrown by Alexander hot her making her screech and hide behind a rock and only emerge after a few seconds and swam over and picked it up
