I just joined today, I'm done with the little introduction thing but I'm still kinda lost, one of my friends suggested I play this game but didn't really explain it to me (I am a fan of the battle part though XD)
how do I get those gem things? and what am I supposed to spend the gold on other than making my party bigger? my friend said there was a broker but I didn't see it in the shops thing.

for one, hello! and for two, the "gem things" are diamonds, they are the second (and more expensive) currency. the broker is under you "trade" tab and not your "sales" tab. confusing, i know. as for your gold, you can either go to the "advanced search" under your "social" tab, or you can click someone name and be brought to their hatchery or stables to see if they have any pets for sale! you can tell if a pet is for sale by checking for a gold coin in the corner of their little box thing (the word escapes me ^^;). if there's a little coin in the top corner, it's for sale!

oohh I see, how do you get the diamonds ? or gold for that matter, I've gotten a little from completing quests and participating in battles but are their any other ways?

if you breed your pets in the breeding grounds (found under your explore tab) you can sell them from gold via their profile page, other than that, when you complete the story you can earn rewards or find chests as you explore areas. during festivals, you can explore the festival zone and look for gold there too. as for diamonds, so far i am only aware of being able to purchase them with irl money and trading extremely rare items or pets in exchange from people who already have them
