How do you get Essences without buying them?
Please tell me if you know.
I have a really cool design and i want to create the Sylesti

You can get essences through mission satchels. You can only get regular essences out of satchels, usually exceptional satchel.

You can get essences rarely from nurturing, the species of the pet you nurture would be the essence you get. There's also a small chance to have the enemie when your fighting drop the essence of the species it is.

Incorrect, you can get both exceptional and regular essences from any mission satchels (the very first essence I got in the game was an exceptional bulbori essence from a low level satchel.)

I have tried all of the suggestions on this thread, but none of them have worked so far. I have been nurturing Sylesti and opening satchels for a bit now. Is

Its complete RNG. Completely random there is no guarantee that you will get one unless you buy it.

the chances via the random routes are a) complete rng, and b) extremely low drop rate, which keeps the worth of the essences up.
Somneli has been doing some research and the current calculated odds from it suggests the droprate from Nurturing is around 0.02%
"180/800,755 = ~0.0225%
(21/180 are enhanced: 11.67%)
Smallest number between essences: 68
Largest number between essences: 21,831 "
