So I have been playing sylestia for about 3 years now, and don't get me wrong I still love seeing all the new art coming out for the avatars and designs for pets. However, in the 3 years I've been playing, I've realized one thing...it's the same thing every year. Nothing has changed. So I have a couple of suggestions.
Note: None of these suggestions are easy changes.
1. You could make the game more simulation like, similar to that of club penguin or webkinz. A window where we could walk around and play minigames shop and chat with other player would be really cool. Like I said these are not easy changes.
2. Add more of a story to the World, A story where we get to chose how things go. Sort of like the dungeons but more open ended.
I might add more suggestions later but these are the few that come to mind right now.

Personally I like the same-ness of festivals.
A walk-around area thing like that would be cool, though that would take a ton of time to build and implement, not to mention that the fest zones get laggy as it is, I can't imagine the lag with that sort of thing.
The story is only 12% complete, I'm sure we're going to get lots of story once the other regions are built and open :) I'm personally excited for the volcanic region. There's quite a few similarities to Lord of the Rings as it is and I want to simply walk into Mordor!

Personally, no support for number 1. Number two I'm kinda confused on, so I won't touch that.
The reason why I joined Sylestia was to be able to have a non-evasive story line and be able to take breaks from it without it getting shoved into my face. I would be devastated if number one came to be, as I feel that would ruin the separation between story and social.
I don't want it to be like Webkinz or Club Penguin, and I feel many others feel the same. That and it would task Krin a lot more to do and he already has a ton on himself anyways, with recreating the site (I think?) and fixing bugs and doing fests. That, and I don't think the severs could handle it and it would ruin mobile playing.
No offense. It would be a neat idea, but not on this site.
TL;DR: It would ruin the charm of the site and task Krin a lot more to do.

It is a wonderful idea, but I have to say I don't quite support it. In my own experience, games such as the one's mentioned have a tendency to grow a bit dull overtime. I honestly really love how the game is right now and the set-up for how to play sylestia is what really makes it unique. It's one of the biggest reasons why I adore the game (that and collecting cute pets ofcourse).
Plus it would add more work for the administrators and they already do so much to try and satisfy us players and I'm most definitely pleased with the work they've done, as are many others I'm sure.

I think it is a great idea but the problem would be if that changed, so many schools would block the website. my school blocked Webkinz and club penguin because of how it is built. This isn't blocked because it isn't really like get distracted kind of game. Plus I like walking away from the computer and yes, this game could use a little update but it is what it is.

There are a ton of things planned for Sylestia's future. Just a lot of factors contributing to the timeline for developing and implementing said content.
But I agree with you 1000%. It bothers me on almost a daily basis lol. I want to push Sylestia forward more than anyone. I am trying to get us there as quickly as I can manage.
