The city around you seems to shudder and blur.
Blinding, multicolored lights blink behind your eyes.
A low pitched hum sounds in your ears.
Then, a dead silence falls.
As you shudder to the ground, a single stone revolves in front of your eyes.
You reach out.
Set in modern day earth, odd happenings occur across the world. Animal activity increases tenfold. The northern lights erupt across the night. The earth shakes in places quakes never occur. However, the strangest happenings affect only a small amount of people.
Twenty stones appear, each bestowing a strange and unexplainable power to those who own it. Each stone has a different power, as unique as the person who holds it. The stone can only be used by the person it choose, called the Vividium. The world slowly becomes aware to the existence of the stones, creating a power struggle never before seen.

Keep in mind that characters can be killed by in-game events. In a situation where this occurs, you can choose to play the character who obtains the stone next, or play a character who obtains a different stone.

The Stones
Hematite~ The Abjuring Stone. Grants the user the ability to shield themselves from attacks and harm. Possessed by Harvard Lee (Larkien), San Fransisco, California, USA.
Rose Quartz~ The Healing Stone. Grants the user the ability to heal themselves and others. Possessed by Leya Mooncaller (Starpup5), Leavenworth, Washington, USA.
Angelite~ The Flight Stone. Grants the user the ability to fly.
Serpentine~ The Vision Stone. Grants the user the ability to see pieces of the future.
Labradorite~ The Traveling Stone. Grants the user the ability to teleport.
Citrine~ The Mind Stone. Grants the user the ability to read minds. Possessed by Leo Langlais, New York City, USA.
Pyrite~ The Luck Stone. Grants the user incredible luck, while giving those around them bad luck.
Howlite~ Grants the user the ability to create illusions.
Obsidian~ Grants the user the ability to shift shapes.
Lapis Lazuli~ Grants the user the ability to control water.
Carnelian~ Grants the user the ability to control fire.
Selenite~ Grants the user the ability to control light.
Moonstone~ Grants the user the ability to turn invisible.

Not the most expressive person, although he is very well versed in sarcasm. He is very impulsive, often jumping into things without really contemplating them first. While he doesn't act unnecessarily, if he thinks an action needs to be taken, he'll do as soon as possible (usually immediately) and ask questions later. Add this to his permanent stubbornness and tendency to ignore direct orders and rules, and you've got someone who is very difficult to predict and control. It's difficult to convince him to sit and wait when he could be doing something, and he hates sitting around. He won't intentionally hurt innocent people, but if you get in his way there's no guarantee he'll go out of his way to avoid it.

Backstory
Harvard is an only child and had a fairly normal life. Being somewhat of a loner, he doesn't have many close friends aside from his cousin Phoenicia (also 19). Earlier this year, he moved out of his parents' house for college and currently studies neurology at UCSF, trying to figure out how computers work in his free time.

Leo is a sociable, witty guy who may too often live in his own grand ideas and schemes. He loves to laugh and can be a bit of a handful to those unprepared for his can-do attitude and seemingly abundant energy, always willing to take people under his wings to live a little. Despite the appearances of his somewhat vain and airheaded outer demeanor, he is surprising good at reading and understanding people and their emotions, apparent or otherwise.

Originally from a small town in Michigan, Leo moved out to New York City to pursue his dream of being a male fashion model.
Backstory:
Leo is the secondborn child of an upper middle class family that once owned a large regional shipping firm in the Midwest. With his parents both busy with the family business throughout most of his childhood, he spent a lot of time basically raised by his older sister Juliet.
Leo was a shy kid throughout most of his school years, more or less only having a handful of close friends other than his sister due to his fears of coming out of the closet back in the early 00s, so he was more than happy to leave his hometown all behind right out of high school. With some of his parent's money, he moved out to New York for college, earning a degree in photography and moving into an apartment with his boyfriend, Alexander Collins, who works as a journalist.

Do you have a particular area/city you want everyone to start in or are we going to be all spread out?
