I know they plan on putting in a crafting & gathering system and housing for us, but that makes me want to add more to it xD

Anyways here are my ideas.

What if we had a list of jobs we could choose from. Each with different skills that you must have to do them. In order to become a certain title you'd need to go on quests to "upgrade/train" Also maybe for gathering, pets can gather items for your jobs. If your a healer, they collect herbs and other plants for your potions and medicine. For a baker/chef, they'd help with farming and gather wild berries (or if they're carnivorous go hunting for meat BWAHAHA) :D

Jobs such as:

Chef/Baker, Healer/Doctor, Guardian etc. (I honestly just can't think of anything, as its late and I'm tired xD)

As for Housing, we can choose which area of Sylestia we live in. Plus maybe...have rent??? xD Pay weekly a fee to live in a smaller/bigger house maybe?

What do you think?

I don't think so... :/

At least, not the housing. The other stuff I could deal with, but it would kinda make this less like a pet site and more like a life sim thing... *Don't know what they're actually called because I avoid them like the plague*

Well I heard they're already planning on the whole housing thing. I feel like the fact that they added an custom avatar into the game already made this a wee bit sim-like and like I said we can use our pets in our jobs :D. I've been on pet sites where they just use icons for forums and completely cut out the avatars. I don't feel like it'll take away anything from the site being a pet site since pets are the main point to the whole game. If we depend on our pets to get us promotions in the jobs + bonuses then maybe it'll be less sim-ish. Perhaps bonuses could be essences (not excessively) and other things for our pets.

In my opinion this site is not a strait up pet breeding site. while I enjoy that aspect of the site, and it is awesome with tons of creation options. The fact that I can adventurer in to dungeons and there is a story line and what not makes it more of a pet site/RPG. So crafting and having a house to decorate and stuff really appeals to me. And I don;t really feel that it would take away from the pet site aspect. So long as it is not absolutely necessary to participate in the crafting/housing etc. part of the site to do the pet aspect of the site it should be a simple matter of choosing not to do that part of it. unfortunately I have a feeling that it will impact it on some level. Over all this is the best site I have seen with the best balance of pet creation and pet battling/adventuring.

Anyway I understand your concern and this is just to say here is hoping that everyone gets to keep what they like and others get new things they want as well.

And to the developers....keep up the good work and we all appreciate the efforts to make the site better.

Agreed to the post above me.

There are already little mentions of housing, crafting, and classes for the player aspect. I think the site is already built enough to have a very sumptuous future on the pet aspect, and it's not like it's going to diminish.

I do like the idea of having additional features NOT alter gameplay in an advantageous manner. It should be enjoyable, and I have no problem with it not giving anyone an upper hand. Kinda like having interior decoration in a home, it appeases the individual, but doesn't make their functions any different nor better from someone who has the living style of a monk (with dismal decoration).

While I like all of this, there's so much at work behind the scenes, I don't think player aspects will be reached for awhile. FD I guess I'm thinking too far ahead to take that into account.

But I don't see pets' futures dying from this. So long as we don't end up having to feed our avatars and make sure they go potty alongside taking care of the pets. xD

edit: I now kinda see what Talyn means. Snow's OP was PACKED with human-heavy things.

It also incurs a lot of responsibility. That looked more scary than fun. xD

I was picturing player housing as a free option, where you just buy furniture separately (no rent).
I was picturing classes as the typical healer/warrior/trainer/craftsman whatever. Not too specific. xD

Yeah, that's...a lot of responsibility. It's really top-heavy, it's like double the work to be a person than a pet trainer. Even if this was a toggle-able feature, I can see what Talyn means: it's a heavy human avatar-oriented feature.

They sounded like the things you do when you're a low-tier newbie in a regular MMO. Not very pet-like. Just re-running quests all day to get items and level up yourself to be a master apprentice of something.

So, pros and cons:

Pros: New variety of features if pets aren't your big forte or if you want a break from them.

Cons: A stereotypical staple that every MMO has already, and kinda like a droning job that makes every MMO a plain forgettable one, if not tedious and forces you to run jobs often instead of pet-stuff.

(Yeah I have more to say about Cons. I have played my share of MMORPGs. Sylestia is my first virtual pet game since neopets.)
