There really needs to be an option to be able to block someone from your profile completely. I've come across a few rude people and the lack of human decency is astonishing. It honestly is very discouraging. Please consider a blocking option, and not just for PMing.

100% support. There are a few people (not naming names) whom I need to block. I was looking for a button to do this and realised there was none. I have an idea of what this button could disable, too -
- PMs. When they try to send a message, it won't send and a pop-up comes out saying, "The person you are trying to send this message to has blocked you".
- Pings. Similar to PMs, however as you can ping more than one person, I think it should tell you (for example) 'You cannot ping Penami as they have blocked you'.
- Small chat. On the bottom bar there is a chat which people call small chat or tiny chat. Block them from this, too.
- Messages on Reg and Gen chat. They are just invisible or faded.
- Friend Requests. Pretty self-explanitory.

Just wanted to point out that you can already block a person from PMing you or pinging you. When they send you a PM, there is the option to block that person on the PM. Click it and they can't PM you anymore. Similarly, when they ping you, there is a red circle with a line through it that if you click it, they can no longer ping you.
For tiny chat, the list of people that can see you on there are the people you have accepted friend requests from. If you do not accept a friend request, then they cannot see you on there. The only way they can open a tiny chat with you then (that I know of) is if you're in gen chat and they start a tiny chat that way (also, comet chat, which runs gen chat and tiny chat is a third party program and not actually part of Sylestia, so Krin would not be able to add a block function to it anyway).
For friend requests, just deny them? Haven't seen many people spam friend requests.
Really, the only functionalities that are on your list that aren't already covered, and are possible, is shielding your view of them talking in region chat, blocking friend requests, and them getting messages about the various ways you've blocked them (I think. Not sure if people get a message about being blocked on PMs. I know with pings you just don't get them).
For the messages, I don't think it's really necessary? If a person you've blocked wants to scream into the void when you don't respond to them, then let them waste their time?
For friend requests, I guess it could be a thing? Again, not sure it's necessary when you can just deny the request.
As for region chat.... Not sure if this would even be possible, and if it was... not sure it's worth the effort? Most of the time the messages in there disappear quickly, and the chat can also be closed. Then again, I've never encountered anyone in region chat that I'd want to block *shrugs*
Anyway, that was a super long, ramble-y way of saying... some of those types of blocking exist already.

Honestly, I think it would be kind of rude if it says "*insert name here has blocked you*"... Like they might figure it out, but that seems a bit overdoing it and a slap to the face, even if it ends up the same way anyways. I know I'd hate it if I were, dunno, trying to apologize or say it was a misunderstanding or something. Leaving the benefit of the doubt seems like a more preferable option in my opinion.

There is a blocking system for pings, the problem is that you can't unblock people so I've accidentally blocked people and had to PM Krin to sort that out xD Comet chat has a blocking system, too. Region chat may or may not be difficult to implement, but I wouldn't mind having that option available.

I don't really need a fancy block button but I need it to work easier. Say I see someone being rude in the forums over and over, I'd want to block them. I can't because they've never pinged, PMed me before and I can't just go to their profile and block them from ever doing that. I suggest that we can at least use it like that. It doesn't need to say like Penami said "you can't pm them cause they've blocked"you it just doesn't work or something. I can understand how making them not visible in region chat is hard so at least make it so we can block people without much trouble.

You can block on pinging too...
If somebody's upsetting you, couldn't you just talk it out? Do you really need to shove it in there face as a '____ has blocked you?'

Ooh yeah, I kinda wish I could just make a person's forum posts totally invisible without having to wait for them to ping/PM you, although I could see why that would be difficult to implement.

Instead of a block button I wouldnt be opposed to a hide messages from this user option. Ive had to walk away from Sylestia so many times recently so that I dont rage.
