I can't get a single link from the site to work in the way it's designed
https://www.sylestia.com/view/pets/petid=5609051 no links work for me this one is just an example
If this works in forums I have no Idea what to do about it
Things i've tried
Directly accessing the page through my account and profile and neither had any different outcome just an error screen.

I would suggest refreshing, restarting, clearing the cache. Could you tell us the browser you're using?
Worst comes to worst, you'll just have to manually add in the question mark after the /pets/ or /forums/ on specific pages.
