Lark: Running two RPs at once is asking to die (for me).
Also Lark: HEY GUYS AND WELCOME BACK TO MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL, ALSO, I MADE ANOTHER RP
Edit: Leaving OS to die because no way can I juggle two RPs and schoolwork and annoying my brother about college

Guess I'm asking to die, then.
RPGs? I can run those all day. RPs, eh, not so much.
You'd think I would've given up or at least learned how to run one properly after ten million, but noooope. I'm doing it again. Hopefully with less people because I have a problem with leaving signups open until ten people join and then interest pinging twenty more.

So anyways, to hopefully save everyone from running away in sheer terror from my stupidity, I've, uh, totally not coerced Orca and Lala into helping me. (Orca, stop trying to get the butter knife away from your throat.)

Also, this is a thing I started writing but sorta left in stasis or something, because no creativity.
Idea is someone else's.

~~~
Two years ago, a strange drug was invented, known as the Dreamcatcher drug. It had absolutely zero negative effects, only positive ones that made whoever took it feel like they were literally 'living the dream'. In addition, if one were to go to sleep while under the effects of the drug, they would have amazing, realistic dreams that they completely remember upon waking up.
Dealers all over the world claimed that a man wearing a blank mask with realistic eyes painted on it gave it to them and simply said to distribute it to as many people as possible. This man was never identified and so became known as the No-Faced Man.
Of course, it was too good to be true. Exactly a year after the drug was first distributed, everything went to hell.
Every single person who had ever taken the drug either turned into a mindless mutant monster intent on nothing but destruction, or some sort of hybrid mix between mutant and human that gained amazing powers but retained their humanity and could shift back and forth between 'monster' and 'human' form. It became the start of an apocalypse. With only the new hybrids to depend on, the rest of humanity was pushed further and further back into a corner.
The few cities are defended by the 'hybrids', known as the Awoken, but as time goes on, more and more are falling to the Dreamers, the mutant monsters (see below post for too much information and what Lark does when they're bored :P), and there's only so long humanity can hold out. The only hope is to somehow find the No-Faced Man, even if he's still alive, and force an solution out of him - an almost certainly futile effort, but what other choice do you have?
Random Info Dump
I condensed it but it's really long and detailed so feel free to ask me for clarification and other details and I'll probably be able to answer.
The mindless destruction monster people are known as Dreamers, because in a sense they're still dreaming, trapped under the effects of the drug. All of them are naturally born with super strength, but are sluggish and naturally blind. Dreamers cannot see at all and depend on their other senses to get around. Though they're blind, they have a strange way of sensing their surroundings, this paired with their other senses means they're very good at getting around even in pure darkness.
Some of them have special abilities similar to the Awoken, but most of them are basically just very strong zombies. They reproduce faster than mice, and so 'nests' of Dreamers are often targeted and exterminated as soon as they are found, but this is never an easy task.
Dreamers are weak to silver - it makes their flesh melt on contact and the corrosion will spread if they touch for too long. It's really the only effective thing against them, of course they can be attacked with regular blades and such but you'll have to tear them to pieces if you're doing so to completely disable them.
The Awoken are the mutated who retained their humanity and are capable of living alongside humans and act as the main line of defense. Most of them spend most of their time in their human form... which can't hide all of their mutations, often having a few subtle things stuck out that clue others in that they're not a regular human. Most of them vary between looking like humanoid monsters and humans with a couple of quirks like weird colored skin and hair that's not noticeable at a distance. Their 'monster' forms can look anything from mostly the same, to some fantastical beast or anywhere in between (they usually remain humanoid, less like animals and more like humans with scales, claws, etc., and by fantastical beast I meant more like a centaur or golem or whatever rather than a literal pegasus but that's my fault for being unclear. And I'd rather steer it away from actual mythical creatures in general, because this is not meant to be a fantasy-based RP).
Their powers are usually more limited in normal human form.
The Dreamers took the drug multiple times while the Awoken only took it once. The Awoken can have children that are Awoken too, as if they're a new subrace of humans. These children more often than not take after their Awoken parent rather than their normal human one. They can have abilities too.
The few societies are underground and defended by a team of Awoken. They live in a silver-plated (yes, very expensive) sort of guard tower, where they sleep, eat, etc. and carry out their duties.
Weapons do include guns, usually reserved for the military though because honestly where are you going to get all that silver, everyone else (the Awoken) just has some silver edged bladed weapon of some sort if they need one (someone elsewhere has the abiliity to turn things into silver and gold but that's not important to the plot). If you have a directly offensive or defensive ability, you most likely won't get one.
Generally, the Awoken's job are to help defend the city by fighting off random groups of Dreamers and such. They won't all be sent out to one job of course, unless it's something big such as clearing out a nest.
Rules
1. Hate the character, not the player.
2. Keep it PG-13, no overly gory descriptions or swearing without at least a warning at the top of the post.
3. Romance is allowed (fiiiine), but don't derail the plot for a romance story because I hate it when that happens in books.
4. Please don't make your character OP. One ability per person and try to make it unique rather than something generic or overused like 'they can teleport'
5. Two characters per person, include a quote by your character in their sign-up form, and keep gender balanced please.
6. No godmodding and/or powerplaying. Don't control people or dodge everything miraculously.
7. Please semi-lit, more than one sentence per post if you can.
8. Also, you're all Awoken if I didn't make it clear previously.
Sign-up Form
I realize I may not have been particularly clear about descriptions and things, so feel free to ask if you're unsure if something works or not.
Edit because there seems to be some confusion: Mutant form is usually some mix of nonhuman/humanoid and human, very rarely an entirely mythical creature (I don't want it to get too fantasy-based.) For example, instead of a literal wolf in mutant form, you would more likely to just have gray hair and sharp fingernails or something normally and grow claws, ears, and some fur in mutant form but remain mostly humanoid.
There will be two major cities for convenience, I guess you could ask to switch if you're not happy with your city for some reason but I probably won't bother to move everything around just to satisfy one person if it gets that complicated.
Yes, birbs. Excuse the cringey steampunk-ish names. Shh. I have another city named Rookhaven but I figured that might be confused with Ravenfell, so.
I think it's a sign that I'm sleep deprived when I write 'pet' instead of 'bit'
LISA is like a weird Earthbound mixed with binding of Isaac type fever dream of an RPG. Fun to play and brutally hard but it will mess you up
Don't recommend it if you're squeamish to horror or things like mentions of abuse btw
