TL;DR Group of non-magical geniuses are tasked with saving their magical city/world from aliens.
Signups!
The city of Ariowood was magical, of course. Anything less would have normal humans flocking the city, begging for magical cures. Since the city is magical, it chases away potential visitors with anything from mind-blending to outright hiding the city.
Those non-magical born in the city are slightly less lucky.
The High School of Ariowood was host to at least two thousand students. Most with magical abilities.
But some without.
Those with magical abilities all have unique abilities and all could potentially profit off of them. Most do. Most spend long nights not studying but building their empire, laughing at those who don't, laughing at those who spend their nights studying. Laughing at the non-magical ones, who can't.
So how do those without powers get back at those with?
How are they special?
Well, they're geniuses.
Some natural, some not so natural, all intelligent enough for some teachers to praise them in front of students that could care less and are close to failing. The geniuses, everyone thought, were good for nothing except schoolwork. They'd flunk in real job opportunities.
Then aliens invaded the high school.
No one could tell aliens apart from the students. The whole high school didn't even know that they were being invaded by aliens. All they knew was that random people disappeared and some of their friends acted funny. Nothing more.
But the geniuses knew something was up.
The four non-magical teachers saw that something major was up. They could tell the difference between alien-kind and humankind. Two of them were trying to spread the word: "Aliens are invading our campus! Aliens are invading our campus!" Then, the next day, they were gone. Vanished into thin air. Didn't come to the school to teach. The two remaining were afraid to speak up, afraid to be caught.
But all the geniuses knew that something had to be done or else the aliens were going to take control of the entire city, maybe even the world.
Emily walked around the empty hallways, pacing, pacing.
How could no one notice yet? How could everyone be so blind towards the aliens? They're obviously in sight!
They sighed, brushing some of their hair behind their ears. "Maybe Mr. Haaze has noticed. No, he hadn't said a thing about it." They continued pacing, knowing full and well that they should be eating lunch, but they weren't able to get the fear out of their stomach.
Mr. Warren Haaze, human genius (teacher)
Mr. Haaze calmly ate his lunch in his classroom, his door wide open.

Scias
Scias was in the hallway as well, eating a sandwich with his back pressed against his locker. Truth be told, he didn't exactly like eating around the other students.
He always got a lot of weird looks for the way things seemed to spark, smoke up, and disintegrate when he ate them and he wasn't trying to end up with his head almost crammed in a toilet again for being one of those 'alien freaks.'
He flinched almost instinctively as he heard frantic steps down the hall, tensing up before relaxing with a sigh as he saw it was just a girl.
Admittedly one of them in his classes that probably hated him.
But a girl.
He kept eating.

Ruby
Due to her crystal anatomy, she didn't exactly need to eat. She did however, vitally need sunshine. She scurried down the halls in search of a window or door that gave access to the outdoors. She had a few books in hand, planning on reading once she had reach a source of sunlight.

Oh. Oh, dear. This was probably a problem. Dashiell paced, calculus textbook in hand, ignoring the laughing kids who ran past him to the cafeteria. They wouldn't be laughing if they could see what he was seeing. Then again, they also weren't worrying if they were going insane. Why was everyone so oblivious? If no one else could see it, was he hallucinating?

Emily
They glanced up, hearing other footsteps, pacing and pacing. Another person, pacing.
They walked up towards them. "H-h-h." They were so nervous that this person pacing was magical, that, when they got this person's attention, they would be laughed at. But what if their pacing for the same reason I am?
They tried again, "H-h-hey. Why are you, are you p-pace-pacing?"

Liam was just chilling outside, watching the birds chirp around him as he argued with himself.
"We can't just do that," He whispered fiercely to Lucas, the other part of himself, "We will be caught for sure!"
Worry wart, you really think we will get caught, we can teleport after all, Lucas said in Liam's head and he sighed, "We will get caught... I can't do what you can do."

Dashiell flushed. "Uh, nothing. Just, uh, bored I guess?" An obvious lie, he was terrible at lying, but this person would probably call the police to take him away if he told them what the actual prohlem was.

Theodore Michaels
Theodore plopped down at a lunch table with a sigh, swinging his backpack off of his shoulders. He preferred to pack a lunch - it was easier than being bumped around in line all the time, and then not finding an open spot, or not having time to eat it. There was also less of a chance tripping overhimself and dropping everything on his way there.
Ricky Bonners - alien
Ricky was in the library, her nose buried deep in a book. It was a big one too... full of words she didn't know yet, and she wanted to learn them all. They were all sorted accordingly, and it made her happy - the cover said "Dictionary", but she hadn't gotten to that word yet to see what it meant.

(not outside.. but.. easy enough)
Scias
Scias noticed the faint whispering of that one weird kid again that always seemed to be hanging out in the back of the class through the window.
Finished with his lunch, he decided to head outside to mess with him.
