"Ok, this should work." Jordan muttered to himself, pushing his glasses up with his index and pointer fingers. The clearing he was in was isolated, tall pine trees surrounding the boarder and blocking most of the sunlight from filtering through and warming the chilly air.

There was a workbench and chair along with stones set up in a similar way to a firepit. The rocks had complicated runes carved into them by hand; the 16 year old was ready to begin. He stood confront of the stone configuration and channelled magic to his hands, dispelling the building pressure by directing it to the runes. They lit up eerily, a distinct hum signaling the spells activation. A rare smile turned up his lips as a spinning vortex opened, making Jordan have to plant his feet on the ground firmly to resist the pull.

15 year old Mai was walking through the forest, making snowflakes and letting them fall on her tongue, when a vortex opened in front of her. Before she could even react, she was pulled through, flying straight into the rune rocks and hitting one.

Jordan stared in shock when a strange girl flew through the portal, blinking a few times and pulsing his magic to make sure it wasn't an illusion. "Um- this is... unexpected." He glanced around the clearing one more time, looking out for any more abnormalities.

She sat up, rubbing her head and looking around. " Where...am I? "

"Wisteria woods," he automatically provided, "it's... one of the territories under the guild's jurisdiction." He studied her cautiously, random people that come out of portals didn't tend to be that friendly afterall.

Meanwhile, a child who looked about the age of ten with Sandy blonde hair and Amber eyes looked towards the sky, pursing his lips. "Looks like another disturbance" he said flatly with a sigh. Standing slowly from his position under an old oak tree, dusting off his silk clothing.

" What guild. What country is this? What time period is this?! " She asked frantically.

"The mages guild, and you're in Verdan..." he said slowly with a hint of condensation. "It's 1427." Jordan adjusted his glasses again and raised a brow. "I didn't think the portal would effect time, only space." He added quietly, mostly to himself.

" Well it did! " She climbed to a stand, dusting off her clothes. " In my time, mages are hunted. I'm from 2020, Kallca. But that doesn't matter. How do I get home? "

By this point, the runes had stopped glowing during their conversation while the faint pull from the vortex got slowly weaker until it stopped completely. "I would assume going back-" he cut himself off and stared at the stone configuration.

He opened his mouth to point it out, the words dying in his throat when the swirling magic sputtered and dissipated, sending an invisible shockwave outwards. The force blew harshly for a moment then died down, leaving nothing but chared ground and useless stones where the portal was.

Neil paused in his journey when he felt a wave of energy dissipate from the direction of the disturbance he sensed before. He looked impassivly with halflidded eyes, before continuing to travel, pace more brisk than before.

" Are you kidding me? " She said. This was bad. She didn't have any urgency to get home, since she was an orphan, but she knew first hand what being in the wrong universe does to you're body. Since shes watched Spiderman into the spiderverse at least a thousand times.
