Ive been racking my brains back and forth between, getting a better graphics tablet or getting my first display tablet.
Now Ive always felt that drawing on graphics tablet is a little difficult, but manageable. Besides, Im very new to drawing, so most things are difficult for me... also I have an older tablet, so that could be a factor.
But part of me cant help but wonder if getting a display tablet be a step in a positive direction.
do you think that display tablets are significantly superior to a graphics tablet; specifically to warrant the higher price point?
the devices Im considering is XP-Pen Deco 01 V2 and the XP-Pen Artist 12 pro which support tilt sensitivity ( http://www.xp-pen.com ) ; in case you were wondering

Not necessarily. From what I've been told by art friends, there tends to be a higher rate of failure with display tablets due to the addition of a display and other electronics. Had a friend have a Wacom Cintiq die in about 2 years with minimal use.
Can't speak for any other brands though. I'm not familiar with this one though I do think the price point is far lower than other display tablets I've seen on market. Something to keep in mind. Make sure you're looking over reviews closely.
I've never used a display tablet yet myself because I still can't justify the price point of say a Cintiq compared to something like a iPad which I could also load art and other apps onto for still less and just use a stylus. It'd also be way more portable than my laptop and tablet combo is currently.
For reference, I use my phone to do most of my art these days as I've been looking to replace my old less-than-functional Intuos.
When it comes to traditional art tablets, it's all muscle memory. I used to do traditional art pretty religiously so it was a weird adjustment to me at first, but I had also spent a few years doing digital art with a mouse, so I ultimately ended up liking it. You just have to train yourself to keep your focus on the screen instead of on your hand. A better tablet doesn't make for better art imo, consider it just a tool. It's all on your personal drawing habits, practice, and your familiarity with your subject matter + art program.

Hello! Sorry if this reply is a bit late, but I thought I'd put in my two cents. I recently got a display tablet to replace my regular art tablet, and I'd say it's so much better for me. Drawing is so much more comfortable, as well as it just plain looks better. As soon as I did my first sketch on the new one and saw/felt the difference, I knew it was worth it. However, while I did get mine for a great price, it did set me back $600 or so. I recommend it only if you're serious about art as a hobby, rather than something just to have. Here are some examples of before and after the new tablet!
(I'll add the pictures in a little bit)
I definitely suggest you spend at least a year or two more improving on your current tablet or on paper to see if you really enjoy art before you buy a new tablet, unless you're well off. Hope this could help!
I spent around 4-5 years with my old Huion. My new tablet is a Wacom Cintiq 16. It said I got the small version, but it's still huge. It works fantastically. It's much more affordable than its sister, the Cintiq Pro, and almost exactly the same. Here is a link if you want to check it out.

I'd like to offer my two cents but I feel like this is a very well done and dressed up advertisement post considering this user hasn't bothered to create a starter pet nor come back since they joined to look at responses. xD

I used a non display tablet for a bit. It was pretty small and only was about $50. I then bought a more expensive display tablet, and it was much worse. Sorry I cant remember the exact brand name of either.
