-Backstory-
She had grown up with a very normal family. Her younger sister always annoyed her and her older brother always ignored her. The parents hadn't cared much for trying to protect her, they had a stance on life where you need to make mistakes to learn. So they constantly let her go off and do her own thing, learning what seemed to be right and wrong.
-Personality-
She can come off as rude and snarky but she usually doesn't mean it. Sarcasm is one of the common ways she responds to people doing stupid stuff or stuff she finds wrong. She generally tries to be nice which ends up in her lying(horribly that is) about her real personality.
-Appearance-
(Not my art)
-Magic/Abilities-
She was gifted at birth with simple ice powers. Meaning she can use the ice to create spikes and walls or she can great barriers and such.
The ice is powerful and she can really freeze any liquid, some are harder than others though.
The ice she creates is naturally very weak to fire and if it gets enough battering it'll shatter like a mirror.
It can be as sharp or as round as she likes, yet she usually likes to keep people alive.
Would you prefer that I make a male character, or is this fine? I don't mind either way
I'd prefer a forum thread, please

-Backstory-
She was an only child and her single mother was very overprotective (which embarrassed rather than annoyed her), so she tried her best to stay out of major things and was just an average kid.
-Personality-
She in general seems to be guarded at first, she usually acts cool towards people she doesn't know therefore giving the impression that she's a snob. However she's nicer once you get to know her, if not a little blunt at times, often pointing out the obvious, and she has a dry sense of humor. She usually doesn't try anything out of her comfort zone when she's by herself but with friends she's much more likely to do something reckless. However, starting a fight is very much in her comfort zone - she isn't the person who'll purposely go looking for a fight, but if she sees a little kid/someone defenseless being picked on or if someone insults her friends, she won't be afraid to throw a few punches. During verbal arguments, however, she will step out no matter her opinion unless it's really important.
-Appearance-
-Magic/Abilities-
She's basically a human solar panel, she can "charge" using any sort of light (sunlight works the best), and turn it into energy.
Her main use for this is creating force fields that work sort of like electricity. She and anyone else she chooses (must be in direct contact) is able to pass through them unharmed, but anyone else who touches it will be in severe pain. It's not quite electricity, so people impervious to electricity are still affected.
While it does help if she's tired or something, it's not really an alternate food source. She won't wear out as easily in direct sunlight, but it doesn't give her extra power or speed or anything. If she's really exhausted, standing in light might help but it won't measure up to a good nap.

The girl had been out n' about today at the markets n' such. She hadn't much to do today after all. Currently she resided in the jewelry store, looking at the necklaces. She always liked those, especially the crystal looking ones. A shining blue one had caught her eyes, but it was far too expensive.
Everything in the shop was but she didn't mind. She just enjoyed looking. It was half the fun of being out of the house, for her anyways. Something was different about today though, seeing as when she went to leave the shop a not so nice looking animal was roaming the streets.
It was black and to be fair it looked very demonic. If she had any say in how it looked at all. Drool seemed to be constantly dripping on the ground. It was very gross and aggressive it seemed, due to the thing spotting somebody and immediately trying to attack them.
It scared her, sure, so much that she hadn't even tried to help the person. She had watched the creature kill them. It was horrifying, naturally, yet she was more shocked it didn't notice her. If this thing was running around then half the people out today on this street have probably been killed already.
She wouldn't dare look, if she did she would throw up if it were true. She was stuck in the shop until something happened. It seemed like nobody noticed though. Yet they were probably just as scared as her, possibly even more.
All she could really do was wait until they got news about the creature or she found the courage to go out and try to face it, all so she could get home. Naturally she had prefered to just stay in the shop and hope it doesn't decide to try and sniff out more people.
(For the storyline I was thinking of a general 'Oh look monsters! Better go halfway across the world to find some god to help save the planet.' because that's common and easy. Unless you have an idea that's better which probably is. It's kind of a mess but I hope it made enough sense.)

Darya hummed to herself as she carefully tucked her earnings inside her fiddle case and closed it. Summer was in full swing now, which meant tourists would be coming, and they were the only people she could impress with her playing, maybe earning a buck or two towards the travel fund.
If her ma found out what her only daughter was really doing every day instead of being over at a friend's house, she'd throw a fit. After taking the money. So Darya never told her, of course.
She turned as she heard screams from behind her, but she didn't have time to register what was going on until a black shadowy creature tore past her with something gristly hanging from its mouth. Then she screamed, but the thing hadn't paid her any attention, probably for the better. She froze, her legs not really working, as her brain tried to comprehend what was going on. What was that thing and how had she not noticed it?
Some more screaming came from the other direction, and this time Darya didn't waste any time, throwing her case onto her back as she sprinted down a side street and ducked into a jewelry shop, slamming the door behind her.

She had looked up from her spot after hearing the door slam. Seeing a girl with an instrument case run in. "Be quiet! No need to slam the door next time!" She had seemingly yelled the words out in a whisper. "We don't want that thing coming over here!" The words had came out the same as they had last time.
Her eyes had looked the girl over before turning back to the front of the store. She had pulled out her phone, hoping to find something. Though sadly nothing had seemed to show up. Or well, nothing on the creature they had. It seemed others had popped up and the internet was freaking out.
She couldn't blame them, this had never happened before. Her brows had furrowed as she clicked on a new story. A blurry picture of one could be seen, it seemed to have something in its mouth. All she could think of was how disgusting it looked, even while blurry.

Darya leaned against the wall, putting her hands on her knees as she caught her breath from the short spring.
Sorry, she mouthed at the girl, craning her neck to see her phone screen. Her mother didn't trust her enough to have a phone, it had been one of the things she was hoping to buy eventually.
She was in plain view of the glass door, so she scooted a little bit behind a jewelry case as if that would help much if those monsters decided to barge in.
Of course, they were probably all dead if those monsters decided to barge in.
Her mother was probably freaking out seeing the news by now, but Darya found it all rather exciting. Maybe even worth the bone-crushing hugs and tearful reunion she would get back when she returned.
