This is a choose-your-own-adventure/pick-your-path game. If you participate, you will be given a set of options each round, which may lead you into dialogue mode. In dialogue mode, you must instead speak to an npc, or a non-playable character. The choices you make will affect how others interact with you, what type of situations you get into, and sometimes, the choices presented to you.

You may sometimes find companions who will help you, and you may sometimes lose companions. Your companions may speak up at any time if they are humanoid beings. Your companions will have personalities, and will each have their own reputation.

This game is different for every player, so you may not look to another's story to figure out your own.

The info thread for the Game of Oz is here, but you are not expected to become an expert on everything in it! It's just there to give you a few ideas about how Oz is.

The Rules, which must be Read AND Followed:

1. This game will have a limit of 5 people at a time doing their little stories so I don't get overwhelmed. I may bump it up in the future.

2. The slots will be first-come, first-serve.

3. If you are inactive with this game for three days, you will receive a warning message. Once you have been inactive with this game for a total seven days, you will be removed and your slot would be open for someone else to fill. Days that I cannot post do not count against you! If you have a conflict that may impede posting, let me know!

4. Failure to follow the rules thrice, earning a strike each time, will result in immediate death of your character by an unstoppable cause and you will be removed from the game, with the spot open for someone else to fill.

5. NO cursing/swearing/foul language. "Heck, frick, etc." is allowed. However, if you really want to cuss, please make a creative phrase of random words, such as, "Flabbergasted Peacocks!"

6. Do not be mean to another player.

7. Do not act like it is a sob story that someone else has more of anything than you.

8. Do not complain. You can joke, but no complaints. Please, keep this lighthearted. It's a game! :)

9. NO dirty references.

10. Your choices may lead your character to die.

11. Please do not PM or ping me asking if any spots will be opened. When/if spots are opened, they will usually be random. I may choose to expand the amount of people playing if I so wish.

12. Your character can either be evil or good, lawful or chaotic, really up to you. It is best, though, that you stick to a personality with your character.

13. You may have no more than 3 companions travelling with you at any given time.

14. You MAY reserve a spot.

15. In a world where you can be many different things, be creative! :D

16. Try to use correct grammar/spelling, please. I do. It's not that hard to capitalize the first letter in a sentence and add punctuation! Your replies don't have to be long (they can be if you want), but please make them legible.

17. No Godmodding, basically? I run the game, not you. It's my job to determine scenarios and yours to react.

Religion: professes Unionism, though his attachment to his physical possessions makes one wonder how dedicated he actually is to that belief
Weapon of Preference: probably clubs or hammers, since if you swing them hard enough you don't really need precise depth perception
Backstory: Sentell was born and raised in a moderately wealthy family in Gillikin. Though not members of the very highest class, they have always been well off, and income from their clockwork inventions is more than enough to cover their needs. So Sentell grew up learning how to make clockwork systems. He tends to hold a very high view of himself and his family, to the point of looking down on anyone who's too poor or too different from himself to be "worthy" of his attention. He derived this attitude from the other wealthier folks around him; he just doesn't know any better.
His eye was injured in an embarrassingly avoidable childhood accident that he refuses to talk about. If asked directly, he has a story prepared that makes it sound like a much nobler injury.
Despite his professed superiority, he actually knows very little about the world outside his family's social circles. His interactions with the other races have been superficial at best. His lack of depth perception at times can make him clumsier than he'd like to admit, and his skill with any weapon or form of defense is hampered by it.

Religion: Pfaither; she gave up at some point and has been chasing entertainment most of her life. However it's not a topic she'd discuss over dinner.
Weapon of Preference: Two-handed battleaxe; throwing hatchets chopping wood gets boring, okay...
Backstory: Blu's earliest memories are those of working on a farm. All the heavy lifting and hard work throughout her life made her quite stronger than she looks. She was so happy and carefree back then, she didn't mind the hard work, she wanted to learn and one day take over, but the day Blu accompanied her mom to the market it became very clear crowds aren't her thing. It was stuffy, loud and there were so many voices competing to overtake one another while saying absolutely nothing. Bumping into strangers from faraway lands was also something you should not do as there are those that do not take kindly to it. Over years Blu learned to fake a smile; she also learned foreigners will often mistake her for a child so feigning innocence was another useful skill of hers. Paranoia and fear turned into alertness when in crowds and she was ready to take on the world, or so she thought.
She tries to make the best of her life, loves listening to stories, exploring vacant lands and drinking. Ohh boy does she put grown men to shame sometimes.

Religion: doesnt really have one she pays attention to her machines to much to spend time with religions
Weapon of preference: uses a bow but is working on a high power cross bow
Backstory: May was always the weird one of her family she wasnt quiet girly, but wasnt quiet a tomboy. She never played with dolls or practices fighting, instead you could always see her working in the blacksmith. May would just have to do something or another so she worked on machines. Shed tinker with bows, swords, and even staffs! In hopes to find a place to supply her enhanced equipment ,she set off to find one but to got lost on her way.

(This is the beginning post for ALL new players!)

You awaken in a simple red-sheeted bed in the room of a small inn. You hardly remember collapsing in the small Gillikinese town. You groan and rub your head as you sit up, and then notice a young Vinkun woman bent over a writing desk in the corner.



She seems to realize you're up and turns to face you, a nervous smile on her face. "Hi! Uh... You must be pretty confused," she laughed and rubbed the back of her head. "Um. Well, I'm Serora. I, uh, I took you to this inn I work at when you fell in the middle of our town. It was kinda weird. You just kinda ran in and then you were down. You seem fine to me, though," she shrugged. "But I don't think this was your destination, was it?"

You shake your head no. It wasn't.

She nodded a few times. "That's what I thought. Well, I've gathered your stuff beside the bed there. You're okay to be on your way now. Just know that you've got a friend here," she grinned reassuringly.

What do you wish to do?

Rubbing at his eye to try to clear his still-blurry vision, Sentell leans over and reaches for the satchel beside the bed. He looks through everything, counting rapidly under his breath, and then looks up at the strange woman with a deeply hostile glare. "Where's the rest of my money? Did you steal it, Winkie? I know for a fact I had over seven hundred green pennies with me. What did you do with the rest of them?"

You attempted to intimidate the Vinkun, but she seemed unimpressed with you, raising one eyebrow. "If I had seven hundred green pennies, I assure you, I wouldn't be here right now. I'd be halfway to the Vinkus if I had that kind of money. You very well could threaten every person in this town if you wanted, but I'm sure some won't take it quite as well as I have." She smiled and stood up, handing you a loaf of bread. "Here, for your journey. Revenge can take a while, I hear."

(I've read through that whole thread a few times now haha)

Her response was so unexpected that Sentell didn't know how to react. He stared at the bread for a long moment, then took it carefully and stuffed it into his satchel. He tried to think back to what he was doing... how he'd ended up there... but had little success recalling much of anything at all.

With a sigh of great reluctance, he realized this woman might be his only source of information to figure out what was going on. Clearing his throat, he asked, "So you have no idea what I'm doing here? Or where the rest of my stuff went? And... what do you mean, revenge?"

"All I know, really, is that you collapsed into the town of Evora, just outside of Settica. I took you in here with the satchel that you had on you. I didn't see you fall, though. I figured you're a man on a mission, is all. Forgive me for assuming revenge." Serora smiled then, showing off her pretty white teeth. "I tend to imagine extremes. It's a release from my boring life."
