I find it very strange that in all those years I visit this game, there is no block player feature (if there is one, it's very hidden, which is not really good).
Cutting all contact with an user (making them unable to message, buy itens and stuff from you, send you trade requests, etc etc) is basically a feature in any forum/pet game with forums, or almost anything that involves social interactions online, so I don't get why there is a not a block feature yet, so I suggest that maybe it's a nice thing to add

when someone you want to block dms you there will be a red no sign in the top right of their message. it stops the message frim going thru, it wont let the blocked person send it and the blocker wont see anything in the inbox.
for pings, far left will be a no sign aswell. it wont stop the player from posting but you wont see the ping.
theres no way to block sales. selling on broker or not putting pets for private selling is public, and i dont think blocking those is agood idea. trade reqs tho, i can see why someone might wanna block that

Such features don't really exist yet because a very large portion of the Site is still very isolated from one another. I don't have an easy way to implement such a global 'Block' feature at this time. It would be rather time consuming to tie in each and every feature to share some sort of global 'Block' feature.
I do agree that it would be a good thing to have some day, but I largely am focusing more on content and updates than something like that at this point.
I do feel like it's a relatively minor occurrence in our community and I would much rather figure out how to make the players involved work out the issues in the rare occasions that they do sprout up than invest a week or two of development time on building up such a feature.

Ohh I didn't know! oops
The others like blocking sales were more of a generic examples, but why would blocking those be a bad idea?
Once I had a expecience so bad with someone on discord that the mere sight of them online on my blocklist made me so anxious that I deleted my entire account. Of course I don't think something similar will happen here, everyone seems so peaceful and I hate conflict, but the point is, if something happens between users that one just want to cut contact and never see the other again, it feels kinda messed up the blocked user still be able to buy their pets and itens and they still get notified that the blocked person bought their stuff

Hello Kin, nice to see you answer those topics!
While it's good fair that you are focusing on other contents, I still think it's something to consider. The community may be smaller now, and easier to manage in case of conflicts, but the game will (hopefully) tend to grow and have a bigger userbase, having this approach on issues may become inviable

lets say you wanted to sell a expensive pet and put it for public sell. what if the only person who wants it and will pay alot is on your blocklist? when you sell things public, it shouldnt matter who buys it. you get the gold anyway. you can sell to specific ppl by making giveaways w/ rules for who can get them, or post in forums for more expensive things

True, but I think that situation could be bypassed by making your pets "invisible" to whoever you blocked
So, still in the pet example, I think it does matter who buys it, it's not about the gold, it more about cutting contact. I feel like the system could be exploited to indirectly harass people I guess, if you think about it. Sometimes you just don't want to see the person never again, so unless you stop selling pets or sell them by forum only that can't be achieved

ok.. so what if someone blocked you for no good reason, and they have a pet you want to buy? or if they blocked you by accident you have no way to let them know.
the block all contact might be used to indirectly harass too. it can stop ppl who really want something from getting stuff, just bc they dont like someone else.
i dont code but id guess this would be super hard to put in. one block key=no pet sales, no trade broker, no currency change, no adv search, no chat... how would you hide all that? and i dont think very many ppl would block that much where it would be useful to use krins time coding

I would say it would vastly depend on how much people on this site want it. From my experience, there doesn't seem to be a huge need for a wide blocking feature.
However, other sites do have features like this, so it is possible to code it so that you can't buy from someone who has blocked you etc..
AGain, this would depend on whether or not it is truly needed on Sylestia, but I know that on other sites, people HAVE been harassed enough they wanted to block all mention of that user name and block that person from every interacting with them. Flight Rising has a noticable problem with harassment and players wanting the ability to hide themselves from their harasser, and this includes being able to buy dragons and other things from them. Flight rising has implemented a block system where that is now possible. You block someone they can't see your profile, lair, or auctions. You can still see their post, but they can't see yours. (I found out by trying to look at some player's profiles that I have been blocked, never knew it from reading the forums)
Personaly, I always preferred a tiered approach, where users could say 'I don't like this person's posts, so hide them' but everything else would stay the same. Or a thing where 'this person constantly buys my pets and immediately releases them, no matter what price I list them at, so they can't buy my pets. Instead of all or nothing, players could tailor the block to suit them. There would still be petty blocking and things like that, but instead of blocking someone from everything for just having a typing style that you can't stand to see, you could just hide their posts.
However, again, as said, I don't think there is a huge need for this, so I would say that this would be something best left for far in the future, when there is time to devote to it, or when/if it is ever needed. It doesn't hurt, however, to be thinking of ways to best integrate and how you want such a feature to be, long before it needs to be implemented.
