Most of the time, instead of ads I get this Ad Space thingy - [screenshot]

I use Google Chrome. I have my Adblock Plus disabled for Sylestia, and pop ups are enabled as well.

Sometimes I can click on the empty Ad Space and it acts as an ad, because it directs to a different website. Most of the time, however, I cannot see or click anything. I say "most of the time", because I have seen a few ads, but they're VERY rare.

Unfortunately, I am not quite sure what I could do about it. For Google Ads, they basically just give you a little snippet of code to plant onto the page and then Google does the rest. I would guess that this is something where the way they load the ads for you is not cooperating with your browser and/or device.

For reference, what browser and device/operating system are you using? Is your browser up to date?

Browser: Google Chrome Version 78.0.3904.108 (Official Build) (64-bit). Up to date!
OS: Windows 8.1 on Desktop PC

I haven't noticed if it's different on my phone. I'll check later and let you know.

This isn't a huge issue for me personally, but I know ads are a fairly major income source. I thought it might be an issue affecting more people than just myself, and thus major enough to report. It doesn't seem like it's been reported much though? Hopefully it's just me.

Hm. Yea, not sure. I use Chrome as well and Windows (albeit, 10 instead of 8), and they mostly load correctly 90%+ of the time.

Ads on Sylestia are pretty minimal. Just standard banner ads aren't really the money makers like they used to be 5-10 years ago. Most of the money is from the incredibly obnoxious and intrusive video ads, which is something we refuse to do. We don't even really try and put our banner ads in good places. They also are disabled if a player purchases Diamonds within 30 days or something like that - don't exactly remember how the system is set up.

Obviously, I intend for them to work since we do use them. But in this situation, I really have no idea what would be the issue. It seems you're using everything up to date and aren't using a popup blocker so they should be working. I can only assume it's something specific between you and Google's ad service and I have no way of investigating that.

But I definitely appreciate the heads up and the information! I will keep it in mind and see if I ever stumble upon a fix or something down the road.

Oh! That's happen to me too. I use phone to play and use Sylestia. I din't noticed it before, but once I opened the page with "Desk site" (well, a function to see the page like in computer) the Ads show up. I switch to the version phone again and I don't have any ad, just the message "Sylestia Ad Space...". I want that little ads because it's help to know other games (that's how I came here) and support Sylestia.
I don't have any block ads, and I don't remember seeing any ad with the version phone...

I can't see ads on my Android phone either. I don't play on it often enough to know if the ads are just as rare though. I use Chrome on it as well, by the way.

I have an android and I can sometimes see ads at the bottom (i know cuz ive somtimes taoped on them by mistake...that was always a fun time :P
