This is something that has bothered me. I think it would be useful when you select a color section on the generator (the boxes where you write the Hexes), there was some indication of what the color changes, maybe some sort of blue selection glow that some other games use. While it's not critical, it would be nice.

Mostly cuz it would mean a lot o work for krin who has to do all 22 species and all the different traits and stuff
But it would be interesting. As long as u can turn it of so you can see what the thinflook like without the glowing stuff in the way. Me and my bad eyesight could sure us either lol but itd mean a lot of work and a long time

I think instead of it being in the generator itself, maybe a tutorial on the generator someplace so that users can know. I know that sometimes it is quite surprising where various colors show up and how some colors don't seem to be used at all except on one gene and so on.
However, I think it could get cluttered on the generator page itself, since it can change trait by trait (qitari eye color shows up in a number of places but not on all genes of a certain trait slot), so it would be more logicial to perhaps have a color and trait guide.

While a sort of interesting idea, I think it would far more work than it would be worth.
Orca mentioned it would have to be done for 22 species, but that is really the smallest number we'd be talking about here. It would have to be coded for 22 species x 2 genders x 12 colours. And that's just baseline. Then for each species and gender and colour slot, each gene/mutation has to be coded to highlight the various colours involved in that trait. That's anywhere from 34 traits for the nytekrie all the way up to 84 for the sylvorpa.
Compared to the incredible amount of work this would be (especially since a lot of colours blend rather than being just one colour slot or another), I think it's probably easier, and less time consuming, to just play around in the generator until you get a feel for how the colours interact on a specific species.
