A small town on the east coast of North America called Cynolline is having its last day of the End of Summer Carnival. Its held in a clearing about a 5-10 minute bike ride from town, and has rides, games, and food.

Cynolline is a smallish town, about a mile from the beach with not many towns around it (the nearest town is about a 30 minute drive. Its one of those places where almost everyone knows each other and everyone rides their bikes everywhere because its all so close

The 5 friends are hanging out at the fair near the end of the night, and will begin heading home soon. On their way home, they will discover a rather disturbing thing.

Theres a lot of conspiracy theory talks in town, with things like supposedly haunted houses and made up ghost stories, talks of imaginary demons and cults, and even crazy alien invasion conspiracies, some buy into the beliefs more than others



"Man... it sucks that school starts in like... a week" Tess sighed, exasperated, fidgeting with her megapass (a wristband for the rides for the whole week of the fair, it cost a lot but it was worth it) "The fair ends tonight, and it's already 9:46! That's barely enough time for 2 more rides with these lines..." She huffed, putting a hand on a hip. "If we go on the zipper, do you think we'd have time to get a funnel cake?" She asked the group.

"Probably" Barry shrugged. "But count me out, I can't stand rides that go upside down" He said.

"It's the funnest ride here, I don't know why you don't like it" Oliver said, shoving Barry playfully, and getting shoved back by Barry with a chuckle. "So, who's partnering with who? it's a two person ride, and there's 4 of us because Barry is a huge wimp" Oliver asked, looking at the remaining girls.

Renae shrugged and idly fanned herself with one hand. "I don't who goes with me, as long as you don't scream too loudly - I might accidentally smack you. But we should hurry, I don't want to waste the rest of the day standing around in 80 degree weather - and the sun's gone down already."

"Stop picking on Barry." , Dahlia chuckled, crossing her arms and shaking her head. "We might have time for some funnel cake. Maybe I can stay back with Barry and we can get some funnelcake while your on the Zipper." , The dark skinned girl suggested, tapping her foot. "We'll get it to y'all by the time your off."

*Oh come on Ren, its not even that hot! Im wearing a sweatshirt and sweatpants and Im fine* Oliver huffed. *But since you already agreed to go on, I call dibs with you as my partner so we dont get stuck with strangers

*But Dahliaaaa if you dont go on then theres only 3 of us, so someone will have to ride with a stranger* Tess whines, leaning her cheek into the taller girls shoulder. *And since Ollie already called dibs on Ren, that means Im gonna have to go aloneeee, dont leave meeee* Tess said dramatically, wrapping her arms around Dahlia to try to prevent her from escaping

*Yeah, dont worry about me Dahl, I dont mind grabbing a funnel cake alone, or holding onto cellphones so you guys dont lose anything* he offered. *Im thirsty anyway, I wanna get a drink... anyone else want anything while Im at the food stands?* Barry asked

"Ooh, I want lemonade!" exclaimed Renae. "And if we don't go now, we're not going at all," she added semi-impatiently. "And we might not even get funnel cake."

The young woman sighed, patting her friend's head. "Don't be over dramatic." , She said, hiding a smile. "Anyway, Barry, don't get lost; and get me a strawberry milkshake." Dahlia had refrained from sticking with Barry because she didn't want some weirdo trying to flirt with her friend. "Anyway, holler if anyone gives you a nasty look." , She warned, giving a thumbs up to the taller teenager.

*Ill have a lemonade too* Oliver said.

*And a sprite for me* Tess added.

Everyone handed Barry the money he would need for the drinks and he waved goodbye as he headed to the food stands *Dint worry too much about me Dahlia, Im a big boy* He said jokingly, flexing her arm muscles dramatically before he left.

The line took about 10 minutes to reach the front, and Barry still wasnt back yet, it was likely there was a long line because it was the last night and the food at the fair was surprisingly amazing.

*Me and Renae are going on first because- oh, youve got to be kidding me* Before Oliver could drag Renae on the ride, he saw who was on the other side of the line.

*Yep, theres my ex, Rhys Amber with his new girlfriend, Tess, Dahlia, you guys go first, I dont wanna face them when I get to the top or get off the ride.* Oliver groaned, turning away from the other line so that Rhys couldnt see him.

*Well, I wont argue with cutting you in line, lets go Dahlia* Tess didnt hesitate to go in front and get hop into the little seat cage, moving so that Dahlia could sit next to her easily.


(For reference, the zipper is a large, pill shaped ride that has 2 entrances, one of either side,,,, its hard to explain,,, its one of those cage ride things that do a lot of flips,,, heres a picture)

Renae rolled her eyes. "Come on, just hide your face or something. The worst it could be is awkward. And maybe they'll throw up or something during the ride so you can laugh at them. It'll be fun. "

Dahlia nodded to Oliver before following Tess in. She looked Rhys up and down. "Wow, he moved on fast." , She muttered to Tess as she sat next to her, straight faced. Dahlia made sure her seatbelt was secure. "This will be fun." , She sighed, crossing a leg over the other, awaiting the incoming thrill.

*...That would be even worse, because if they puked it would fall right on us... eugh* Oliver shuddered at the thought, but laughed a little at the thought anyway. Oliver and Renae were able to quickly get into the next cage. *I promise Ill try not to scream to loud... But we gotta try to do as many flips as-* Oliver helped as the ride jerked forward after the cage door was closed and the ride began moving


*Yeah, he was probably just dating Oliver to get her attention... poor little Ollie, being used like that* Tess sighed, holding onto the bars inside the cage for balance as the ride moved up to let more people on and off. *Well, whatever, we dont have to talk about Oliver right now, we gotta talk about how many flips were gonna do! I hope we can get at least 6 in a row, my record is 13 in a row and that was with Barry... which is probably why hes never gone on this ride since then* Tess giggled.
