Threads can be bumped when they fall off the first page. Also, diamonds can be bought with gold from other players in the Currency Exchange. Most players are not going to be willing to trade an expensive item like the amulet for much less than it's gold equivalent of the diamond cost. At 2k per diamond that's around 700k for an amulet.
