I don't know about you, but I have a few funny stories from my noobie days. I might even make more as my Sylestia days continue.

Anyway, I thought it would be nice to let out my silly stories. If you feel the same way, go ahead and post your own mistakes or funny stories you have had.

Please don't cuss, and be respectful of other players. Don't turn this thread into a huge conversation either. Commenting on players stories are ok, but if the conversations start to get long, please take them somewhere else. Ping other players you are talking to, otherwise it will probably be missed.

Here we go into my silly stories and goof ups!


When I was still a wee little noob, I didn't know much about threads. I especially didn't know much about pinging or quoting others. So, when I tried talking to another player in their thread, they kindly explained how pinging works. I still had a question though. How did I know exactly which post was sent to me? They told me I should see little gray words saying my name, similar to this: @ShimmerStrike

Little noob me then understood how pinging worked... Or so I though.

I went around looking at threads to see examples of what this kind player had told me. I was shocked, however, to discover that no one was being pinged. I thought to myself, "How will people know they are being talked to if they aren't pinged?" So little noob me took it upon herself to ping all these unfortunate players, whose inconsiderate senders were too lazy to ping others themselves.

After about an hour of me going around and so considerately pinging these players who were oblivious they were being talked to, someone pinged little noob me. I thought, "Why would someone ping me? Are they thanking me for bringing their attention to the post I pinged them for?"

I clicked the link and looked at the person's message to me. I don't remember the exact words, but it was something like: Shimmer, only the person sending the ping and the person being pinged can see those gray words.

Oh.

Little noob me bore the embarrassment for months. And it still lingers deep withing me, but I mostly laugh about it now instead.

Welp, i guess my habit of goign onto ther sites (howrse, neopets, furry paws, mweor, and who knows what else i don't even know anymore) helped me with that part....;P But wow, jsut wow. I applaud you. I do. (BTW, did you also facepalm youself on you computer keyboard as i did after i did the following?)


I'm one of the players who joined during a fest. Which is a bad time to join since no one uses forums or gen chat. (BTW, i didn't know gen chat existed until this year. Yeah I noob) ANyway...I didn't even know what was goign on until fest was almost ended. Great.

And only this fest have I finally learned how people get so many avi items.

That and I couldn't find bosses for some reason....until this fest.

I also had so much trouble in the fall fest, thinking that the fest zone was the size of 1/3 of astryl's grove or the size of sweet blossom orchard or something. SO i didn't do a lot more then just walk around this tiny area. NOT KNOWING THAT PLAYERS MADE MAPS OF THE PLACE!!!!!(I joined like halfway through fest btw)

Oh yeah, have you ever posted, then changed your mind but the person you were rping with already answerd? Yep. FUn. ALso having fun getting creative with me OCs names cuz they're apparently quite popular....

Lol, yes, I facepalmed my computer keyboard. XD

I was talking with Swirlspot (a friend of mine) and I told her my "little noob me" story. I asked her if she had any funny stories, and she said nope. NOPE.

Apparently by the first month of playing she was already mentoring noobs!!! XD
Soooo.... I guess Swirl is perfect or something? Lol. I have no idea how she does it.

Btw, I used to play howrse, mweor, and several other similar games. But I ended quitting them cause Sylestia was so much better. :)

Also, I only know what neopets is because of a youtuber I watch called Odd1sout. I didn't know there was a site for it though.

Lol yeah i was one ofthose peeps by about my second month, i was already one of the reglars lol
