You were at an art museum when you saw a gorgeous painting. It didnt have name. When you asked an employee about it, they looked at you like you were crazy. For the next few days, you came back to the museum simply to see the painting. One day, you could no longer resist it. You reached out for the painting. and fell in. You found yourself in a whole new world. You looked around for an exit, but there was none. You cried out for help, but no answer. This is now your home.

You have lived in this world for at least a month. One day you heard of a young woman who seems in the same predicament. However she had supposedly been here for at least 10 years. You found this strange as you were just now hearing about her. Still, you set out to meet her, hoping she could in some way help you.

The falling into the Painting bit was not my idea. Not sure who it belongs to because I found it among other random writing prompts.

Please at least read the World and the People, otherwise you may be slightly lost.
The World:
The terrain is very mountainous. Most of the worlds residents build their houses into the mountains out of stone and wood of the stertre. The flatter areas are often used for marketplaces, inns, farms and other such structures. There are many tunnels for getting around to other cities. Their currency would be gold, silver, and copper coins, not too unusual. Electricity has not yet been invented so no modern technology. Guns have also not been created yet. Though the world is strangely peaceful, supposedly boasting 200 years of peace.

The People:
They have many of the same behaviors as people do. They do walk on two legs, have opposable thumbs, and have a similar body structure but they are not easily mistakable for a human. They have a tough protective skin layer which will glow in a random pattern that is unique to the person, like a fingerprint. They grow horns on their head which vary in size and shape. Their blood is more pinkish than it is red. They breathe through tiny holes where their nose should be. Their eyes are usually very bright, almost neon, colors. Their ears are elvish and they do have small tails, but every generation seems to have shorter and shorter tails.

The Plant Life:
Turgraen - a bitter vegetable that is not well liked but considered important to a persons diet. It grows in dark, damp areas. There is two colors of the turgraen, green and purple. The purple is slightly less bitter but takes far longer to grow.
Artaj - a bush that grows small heart shaped berries. The berries have a thick peel and contain a apple like juice inside. The peel tastes like pure sugar by itself. Often farmers split the juice from the peel. They grind up the peel till it creates a sugar like substance and use the juice for drinks. The average bush can produce thousands of the berries a year.
Blekarune - It looks strikingly similar to the Artaj however the berries are much more rounded and have a solid center. They are poisonous and can kill a person within an hour if not immediately treated.
Saetblom - bright colored flowers that can be found almost everywhere above ground. While they are edible, they taste very bland. If they are ever used in a meal, it is often only for artistic flair.
Gloamos - It resembles a glowing Moss that will grow on most dead things and slowly decompose it. If eaten, it will cause stomach problems. It will not kill though unless it is consumed regularly.
Vinsur - a dull grey vine that releases a horrible smelling vapor when cut. It is incredibly strong and once cut will often be left to let out the vapor before being used for rope.
Illdau - It is a poisonous, spike covered plant that can grow to 6 feet tall if not dealt with. It must be removed as soon as possible. It is about a month after it sprouts that it gets its spikes, 2 months till the poison. Once it has turned from yellow to red, it has become too dangerous to handle.
Stertre - A plain white tree with varying colors of leaves. Its wood is used in many buildings and the leaves are dried to become salty snacks.
Heiltre - a beautiful gold and silver tree which produce foggy blue fruits. They are sweet and sour. Each tree often only produces 3-4 fruits a year. They are much more expensive than most foods. The wood of these trees are often used in the buildings of rich and the surprisingly strong leaves are used for gorgeous clothing.
Note - No fruits, vegetables, trees, bushes, or flowers from earth grow in this world. They have many of the same grasses, herbs, and fungi (I am aware that fungi is not a plant, but I am just going to include it here for the sake of convenience) as earth. The world is rather limited in its amount of edible plants, or just plants in general.

The Animals:
Silfol - Resembles a miniature dragon, about the size of a dog. They live in burrows and are known for stealing livestock. Their scales are often prized by the rich for clothing.
Marxant - they are like hairless rats. However they do not carry disease and they lay eggs. They are farmed similar to chickens. Their eggs taste same as a regular egg but much smaller.
Gatema - Feathered alligators, need I say more? Well, they resemble an alligator in shape but are far quicker on land and oddly slow in water. Similar to many birds, the males have bright colors but the females are much more dull looking. They are often kept as pets in the same way you might keep a cat or dog. They can guard, hunt, etc. Wild Gatemas are often larger than their domesticated counterpart.
Myromote - The planets equivalent of bees. Though the bugs look more like glass butterflies. Their honey is golden like regular honey but instead of sweet, it is spicy. The intensity of the honey depends on the season. It is the hottest during summer and mildest in the winter. They are the only creature that is immune to the illdau and blekarune poisons.
Wintra - They look like a white, furry, giant snake. They are generally peaceful and their fur is sheared for cloth. Wintra grow back their fur very quickly.
Hiloa - Colorful, sparkly fish, with wings. These fish can fly out of the water and too another pond easily. They can only be out of water for so long but love to fly from body of water to body of water. Cooked well, they taste great.
Hofmindur - The average grown Hofmindur is about 5 feet. They walk on all fours and are almost dog-like. Their defining features are their flattish heads, Hooved feet, scaled back, and antler like formations that grow around their necks. They normally wont bother you unless you bother them. They can make great steeds.
Wolsin - Think ostrich, but with a much shorter neck, fur, can actually fly, and produces milk, much like a cow. I think I am done coming up with animals for this world. I need serious help...

Personality: Zita is rather cheerful, talkative, and energetic. Though she does tend to try a little too hard. Often when she is tired, she will be a tad irritable. She loves to help and almost just as much, loves to be the leader.
Appearance:

Strengths: She is a fast runner, she is very smart, and she is a great cook.
Weaknesses: She overworks herself, can easily get upset, and wont admit when she is sad. She is also physically weak.
Backstory: Zita showed up in the world about 11 years ago. She spent 10 years searching for some way out or at least another person. About a year ago, she thought she had found it. She hadnt and had instead opened up the portal that pulled her in again. This time though, it did not settle for one person and started dragging in more.
Other: Over the last few years, she has accumulated quite a bit of wealth which she used to try to find a way out and for a few (or a lot of) comforts.

Backstory: Liked goign to mueseums cuz they were quieter then his noisy house (think Loud House, but with more boys and twice the people in a larger house). Not that he cold hear it but whatever. And you know the rest. (He's pretty sur ehtye just think he's gotten himself lost in the library or something, it happens a lot and once he wasn't found for 3 months (long story).
Other: Expect to have to shout at him a lot. Lukcily he can lip read....unless someone mumbles or doesn' look at him when they talk.

Had flash backs, thinking about her wife, and her stubborn nature.

Backstory:
She was in the marines from the age of twenty to twenty-nine, she was hurt in an ambush by the enemy. When she turned thirty she lost her wife to an accident.
