It was a dark morning, thunderclouds overhead. A flash of lightning lit up the place for a split second. Robbie was two miles away from the bus stop, and so he started towards Lin's house, where the bus stopped.

Lin's just sort of wandering around the house, bored. Occasionally she'll stoop down to pet her cat, Sunny, who was following her.

Virgil walk to the bus stop and saw Robbie virgil was sure Robbie wanted virgil as a friend but like that would happen

Robbie glared at Virgil. He kind of absolutely hated him

Ethan, Lin's little brother, tugged at her shirt. "Hey, Linny? There was a monster in my closet. Would you go see if he's gone now?"

She nods, and smiles. "I'll have Sunny scare it off!" She picks up the cat, who meows in protest, and heads to her brother's room.

"Oh BOO HOO"Virgil said He was getting mad

"Knock it off," Robbie said, his usually perpetual smirk gone from his face.

Ethan follows close behind, holding Floppy close. Lin's stepdad, Luke, was sitting at the kitchen table drinking coffee and reading the newspaper. Her mom was nowhere to be seen.

She heads into her brother's room, setting the now irritated cat down.

Ethan peeked around Lin's legs, scanning the room. "And Floppy said that your birthday is coming soon, so I remembered."

Sunny pads over to where the monster supposedly is.
