Through the advanced search, I noticed that you can breed someone else's pet with your own. If I have a male pet and try to breed it through this system, will I receive the egg or will the female's owner receive the egg?

Since it was YOU who purchased the breed, it will be you who receives the egg, regardless of who owns the mother. (Besides, why would the egg be given to the other person if you're the one that payed for it?

If a female is set up for breeding, the person purchasing the breeding will get the egg. The female will then be unavailable for breedings until the cool down goes away, so make absolutely sure you're breeding with the correct male or you'll be waiting 3-7 days if you want to try again. (Not that this isn't common knowledge, but females breeding fees are usually more expensive because of cool down's and it would bite to breed to the wrong critter. ;) )
