Hi, not sure if this has popped up before but I was wondering if it would be possible in the future to be able to earn/purchase Philters that make carried traits visible and visible traits be carried. No changing the traits or anything like that. I ask because sometimes during festivals my themed pets would have 2vis and 2 carried. The 2 carried really mess up the breeding process because for one, I have no idea what the carried are, and two they never appear as visible traits in next generations. I just feel like it would be helpful and make breeding easier.

I had a whole thing typed out and then lost it ugh
1. Not a likely thing, as unless implemented very carefully it could potentially mess up the whole challenge of breeding.
Maybe possibly, if it was a 1-1 tradeoff, with the pet needing both a vis and a carry, functioning sort of like a theme disruptor but for only the traits the pet already has, rather than randomising from all possible traits?
2. if you need your pets genetested and can't do it yourself, there are many threads in the Groups, Guilds, Clubs, and Services forum where people offer pet testing for free
3. if you want to get rid of a trait on a pet, there's the Philter of Nullification available for 1k scales from the scale shop

Well..not completely sure what you were suggesting, but isnt that exactlywhat genetic testers are for???

Whilst I understand the frustration, I think I suggested something similar, which is like a carry nullifier.
It offers suggestions to Scathreoite's opposing points;
1. You'd still have to be breeding to get your desired traits, but it removes the confusion of having hiddens and preserves the challenge of breeding
2. (True and self explanatory)
3. Nullifications remove both the vis and the carry, but a carry nullifier can just remove the carried trait, leaving just a visible left.

wait, no, I'm confused now; I just assumed that the '2vis' part in 'have 2vis and 2 carried' was a typo of '1vis', but now I think I need clarification. Is this about carried traits (which are in slots with no visible trait) or hidden traits (secondary, less dominant, trait genetics in the same slot as a visible trait)?

I think what they're trying to say, is that they're trying to swap visibles and hiddens, eg. BC gene to CB gene, to make it easier to carry the C gene forward for breeding. I assumed in the example of "2 vis and 2 carried" meant hiddens.

I'm sorry for confusing you. What I mean is that, for example, I had a Zolnixi named Riot that I made for the fall festival. I was able to get enough material to give it to visible traits and two carried traits. I do not have a genetic tester to figure what the carried traits were or which spot they were even in. This made breeding pretty hard and annoying because only the visible traits would be carried over to offspring. I was suggesting something that could possible make carried traits into vissible ones and vise versa so people could breed for the traits they want immediately and keep other traits as carried to avoid disruptions in breeding.
I'm still kinda new to the whole breeding thing since I'm not a big breeder but I do have a few projects in mind. The above situation was just very grating on my nerves though I understand that the breeding process is meant to be a challenge. I don't mind if something is never made and I would understand. I was just suggesting it. I was also trying to suggest that if it was made, make it hard to obtain to keep up the challenge
I hope this explained what I meant and didn't confuse you more

ah... you're talking about hidden traits, if it's a nixi made during a festival, rather than carried traits.
"I do not have a genetic tester to figure what the carried traits were or which spot they were even in."
They're in the same slots as the visible traits- they're Hidden traits, meaning they're in the same slot but genetically recessive to the visible.
"This made breeding pretty hard and annoying because only the visible traits would be carried over to offspring."
Sylestian Genetics work on Punnett Square/ Mendelean genetic system- each trait slot has two letters, and they can be different, and each parent passes on a single one of the two letters they have from each slot.
"I was suggesting something that could possible make carried traits into vissible ones and vise versa so people could breed for the traits they want immediately and keep other traits as carried to avoid disruptions in breeding."
In the case of Hidden traits, no, this would not work- that wouldn't work with the whole system. Recessive traits cannot cover more dominant traits.
MAYBE a way to remove Hidden traits (though... you were the one that chose for him to have them in the first place?), but never a way to swap the dominant and recessive.

(because I'm a hopeless case sometimes when the challenge of working out sylesti genetics, we've been going through Riot's offspring to see if we can figure out what his Hiddens are, and thankfully one of his offspring is genetested and- as her mother was 2v with traits in completely different spots to Riot- answered the question, as by luck she got both his recessive genes- As such, I can safely say his genetics are
