How do i level up my pets' skills for battles???? I've noticed that there are ranks for the skills, but i don't know how to level them up.

Ability Expertise? I believe they can start progressing once you reach the Lost Grove.

The above is correct. Currently, expertise can only be gained in the Lost Grove. The more you use a move, and the more battles you win, the more expertise you get.
Presumably, after site revamp, it'll be a "worldwide" feature. But for now, it's exclusive to TLG.
