I am a stick, too!

I've actually fallen a bit behind on the Sanderson books, so I can't properly discuss the newer ones for fear of spoilers, but I love, love, love his stuff. Mistborn, Elantris, Way of Kings... the Librarian books are a little less my style, but I still think everything he has written is borderline genius. Only writer I rank higher is Tolkien. XD

There is no way any author can rank hugher than Tolkien, and that's a solid fact. He... wait, we're not talking about Tolkien. We're talking about Sanderson. I like Mistborn, but it's been a while since I red them... the Librarian books are good too, and funny, but the ending is horrible >o< .

I'm getting the feeling you're saying I should read Tolkien....

I haven't read the Libraian series (It's probably considered below my reading level, but whatever.), But I love the Stormlight Archives and Mistborn. The most recent book I've read from him is Elantris, which I thought was pretty cool too.

Yes, I'm saying you should read Tolkien. Start with LOTR or the Hobbit otherwise you'll probably get hopelessly confused.

While all his books are excellent, Elantris is my quiet favourite. ^^ It's the only one of my big-three-favourites (Mistborn, WoK, Elantris) that doesn't leave me feeling torn and sad.
{Spoiler Alert} (Those final words at Hrathan's funeral made me cry, but in a satisfied, book-ended way. He died fulfilling his mission. CERTAIN OTHER anti-heroes have far, far more tragic stories then he.)
Sanderson definitely knows how to make you feel for the anti-heroes...

Well, that, and I just love Raoden and Sarene. Romance is tough to do well, but I totally buy their's.

And, about Tolkien...
He's got a very different style then Sanderson, but if you love the latter for his world-building, then you should like Tolkien. If you like Sanderson for the action and exciting writing, you might not so much. XD The Silmarillion is my absolute favourite book, but I will admit it could be awfully slow for anyone who isn't an established fan.

I do not believe the Librarian books are actually ending there. Xx There is going to be another book or series of books from her perspective and we are going to get our answers!
...
(I actually believe it would be cool to end the series where he did, but I also think he has more books in mind. Who knows, though?)

Nice to know my high opinion of Tolkien is shared. :) He and Sanderson are very different writers, but it's hard to have a conversation about the latter without thinking of the former.

Ah, I remember that funeral.... For me, I've always found antiheroes really interesting charathers if they're done right; cunning, prideful, surperior to the hero in some way (Harthen's high status), and having a 'noble' reason for opposing the hero (Save the city from devine punishment by converting them).

As for Tolkien, I will definately consider!!

Embrace stickiness.
