It was hard to tell what was morning and what was night anymore, if she hadn't been on such a strict schedule it would have been impossible. Every moring she would wake just before The Father's light shone bright, marking the coming of a new day. Now though the light never shone, only the light of the torches lit their town and lives making life dull, dark and depressing. The woman stretched as she woke, making her way towards her wardrobe. The metallic boots pulsed as she pulled them on over her her sockes, and when the button on the side was pushed the familiar suit crawled up her body, seemingly materializing out of thin air. For as high tech of a land they lived in, nothing worked without the suns power. Even the suit she wore was slowly dying, the light growing dimmer each day. With a loud sigh she grabbed her winged helm and stepped out of her living quarters. "Wake up call! Come on trainees, we have training to get to! You all should be proud today's today that you all go on boarder patrol!" As she walked down the hall she hit each door and lit the torchs in each door frame. "Sooner you get up the sooner we get to eat guys!"
Mithrandil
She woke up rubbing the sleep from her eyes,"food?" she asked. She peeked out of the door

(Yes they have very futuristic armor, and stuff like that though most run off of The Father's light which is now gone so most is useless.)

Rai stretched his arms out and grabbed his leather armor before coming out and looking down the hallway, where Lynn was shouting at the trainees. With a faint smirk, he pulled on his cloak and walked down the hallway to meet and saddle Atharn.

"And that's the last of them, all of the hatchlings seem to be healthy and the last of the eggs should begin hatching at any time. I suggest sprinkling some of these vitamins on top of the hatchlings food to help them grow." The man said pulling the bright green visor of his medical helmet up. With that he dug the bottle of powder out of his pocket and handed it over the tamer. "If anything out of the ordinary happens, or if any of the hatchlings fall behind just give me a call alright?"
"I will Blake, thank you so much for showing up early this morning. I don't know what I would have done, I've never raised a litter of hatchlings on my own before. It's a shame their mother was the lastest victim the the Raider." The young man said looking down towards the ground. After a moment black laid a hand on the man's shoulder and offered him a kind smile.
"We are all shocked by the loss of our last brood female, but as long as we keep the hatchlings safe then we aren't on thin ice yet. Just don't let any of them out of your sight alright?"
"Will do Blake." With that the medic left heading back towards the mess hall. He had been awake for hours already, making his rounds about the place to check on the hatchlings. Two more dragons had been dismembered during the 'night', leaving only the trainees, and three from the military along with the hatchlings. It was mandatory that all females able of conceiving a clutch needed to do so as soon as possible. This was very alarming, soon there wouldn't be any mature dragons left to fight with. The lower numbers made fighting off the shadows even harder to do then normal. Blake rubbed his face lightly as he entered the mess hall, catching sight of Lynn and some of the trainees among the small crowd.
"Moring guys." He said with a sad smile, taking up a tray himself and walking through the lines. Looked like potato cakes, and mostly artificial eggs again. Without the slight the amount of food handed out was getting lower, and of worse quality. With a sigh he sat near Lynn, who like always was playing with her food. "Ready for today's training?"

"You're gonna be all right with this for the next hour or so?"
I'll be fine, Rai. Go eat. Atharn snorted a small gust of air that ruffled his rider's hair. With a smile and a see-you-soon, Rai wandered back to the mess hall and grabbed a small breakfast. He knew from experience that eating too much before a flight would lead to stomach issues later in the day, so he sat down near Blake and Lynn and ate quietly, listening to the conversation.
