For the next species, whenever it is, there should be a thread or something before the species comes out that for whoever posts on it is gets put on a list to get a random 2vis or so (maybe one gene and one mutation) pair of the new species to help start up the species and so newer people dont have to spend tons of gold for a 0vis pet

I agree- but one problem. I honestly understand that this could help newer players a lot, but here's the thing- older players will post on the thread too (I hope I got what you're saying right, that there will be a raffle/lottery with the list of everyone who posted). This doesn't guarantee that it will help newer members, although it would help with the entire species kickoff. If I got anything wrong tell me XD This is just my view on it.

There wouldn't be any raffle/lottery. What I meant by everyone gets put on a list is if you post, you get a pair.
And I'm sure it wouldn't matter if older players posted too. When I say random, I mean maybe like random colors/genes/mutations. Someone would get a themed and unthemed....? The only thing the same would there would be one male and one female.
And yes, it would give the species a kickoff I think it would really help.

Well, I think that's kinda the point. For awhile, Ferrikki are meant to be rather exclusive, rarer.
It obviously won't last forever, but it's meant to be a slow release where people don't just get 'em all at once.

Well, to some extend, there was a random pooling of players to get the ferrikki. But only if one took the effort to take part in the forum games for week of love.

Also, I think the main reason for this species starting off slow, is because they are a fabled species, and are only available in the lost grove. So one needs to have completed the storyline to get there, and then have the luck to find one, quite similar to how nephinies are.

If they were released as a regular species, available in most zones, I'm sure this would not be an issue.


So I'll say the reason why this species is starting off slow, is because by the nature of it, it is meant to be rarer in existence. Though that will change soon enough, once ppl who own them start mass breeding.


So personally don't see the need for this, since the launch of a species always include some exclusive themes, and then lots of breeding to start the market. So if one does not want to pay a ton at the start,then they just need to be patient till the market evens out, or participate in forums games for a chance to get one.

Well I don't know if the next species is gonna be fabled or not... but it would give a fair chance to everyone I think. But everyone has their own opinion, and I am not expecting everyone to agree with my suggestion.
Plus it would only be one pair only if the person posted on the thread.

If it isn't fabled it would be available commonly in most zones, people would have an adult pair very quickly then start breeding. Breeding would also be quicker, thus the release would be quicker. Also it will be every single active player (and a few mostly inactive ones) who'll post in such a thread so it is essentially everyone.
