i just created a nytekrie using the generator. however after i had click on 'generate my sylesti' it came out a complete different color then what i had choose

The generator has a color swing on it, the swing gets less the better your essence.

This is the color swing that happens when generating a pet. The swing is greatest with regular essences, not so much with enhanced essences, and much less with mystical essences.

then may i ask what is the point in letting us color customize them when there is a random chance you wont get what you want, even with a better essence. because i don't recall in the in the tutorial, them ever mentioning at all about being a color swing on it.

This is stated at the top of the Generator page, "Please note, when Generating, the colors for your Sylesti will not always be the ones you chose. My Generator isn't always able to exactly mimic the colors you selected. However, you will find that the Enhanced Generator is more accurate than the Regular Generator."

The point of color swings is to have tiered essences. If regular essences worked perfectly, then there would be no demand for enhanced or mystical.

The color swing is also not just a random selection. It's a swing. So black can be grey, red can be pink, etc. So there is still a point to choosing your color.

And it's not like it is forced to color swing. Sometimes a regular enhanced generated pet comes out perfectly.
