I'm not sure if apple will be different, but have you tried putting [img.][/img.](without the .'s) around the link of the image you want to show?
Example: [img.]imagelinkhere[/img.]

Do what 99echosong99 said but also make sure to hit "copy image address" not just "copy image"
It won't work if you just copy the image.
(I have an apple laptop too and that is the only thing that I can think of that might be different from other computers)
