Soo ... it is midsummer tomorrow(in 45min it will be midnight and midsummer) and the spring fest is just about to wrap up. I feel tht the fests are getting pushed one season behind as it is now. Therefor I would sugest not doing a summer fest. Why?
* The fest would actually be during the right season.
* The time spent to prepp a fest could be spent on the megazone.
* The time spent to prepp fest could go to further work on the rewamps.
* The autumn fest could be on time and you would have plenty of time to work on it occationly.
If you feelt that there NEEDS to be a fest why not just have a diamond sale and a few pick a doors for those unable to wait for the autumn one?

Because money. =P
Sylestia is like 80% funded from Festivals atm. We would not be able to support the game if we forwent a festival.
The reason that we have Festivals when we have them, though, is to keep things spread out throughout the year. We've tried really hard over the past couple of years to have at least 1 Festival or Event for each Month.
December - January: Winter Festival
February: Week of Love Event
March: Fortune Event
April: Easter Event
May-June: Spring Festival
July: 4th Event
August-September: Summer Festival
October-November: Fall Festival
November-December: Thanksgiving / Black Friday Event
So, as you can see, pretty much every month has something going on at this point. This not only improves player retention, but spreads out income over all 12 months so that we don't have to rely so heavily on any one specific Festival or Event.
