Is this not "allowed".

A member states that she is leaving the site and unable to sell her remaining pet because she is her "starter".

Is this a site rule that I am not aware of - I know other sites are like that in case the member returns.

I have offered to keep her fed, but have (as well as others) offered to buy her.

As far as I remember, it is actually impossible to sell a starter pet. Like, the site itself just doesn't allow you to at all. This is to discourage people from breaking the one account rule just to make a bunch of starter pets and sell them, either to one of their own accounts, or to other people for profit to be sent to one account.

Could the pet be "released" then?

I have offered to feed her - otherwise you have starving pets on abandoned accounts (at least we can do that on this game - other games the pet simply starves).

I honestly can't remember if starter pets can be released or not. They can try? If it works, then yes, if it doesn't, then I guess not lol!

Now I have to remember to go and feed her - otherwise the poor thing starves? I wish it were easier to help out when members have left (or for some reason cannot use the stable hand) and cannot keep their pets fed.

It is sad to see the pets all starving on some accounts and it is OK if there is one pet or two but if more than that then it is cumbersome and expensive.

When it's like that it's usually better to just leave off feeding until the person returns. Yes, it will be expensive, but it's only feeding 10 units at that point instead of you spending tons of gold on a pet that isn't being used.

You can release your Starter into the wild, Leo. If you feed the pet first, then release it, it will happily take care of itself in the wild.

If you want it back when you return, just pay 50 diamonds (which is to say, 50 cents), and the pet comes back to you in good shape.

It is not my pet, it belongs to another member - she sold all but her starter and I offered to feed her.

I am soft hearted - I hate to see any pet hungry - even if it is a virtual one.

I do not think she is coming back - she mentioned that she hardly comes on the site. She sold all but the starter.

Like I said below - I hate to even see a virtual pet go hungry - why I cannot get involved in rescue - I would take them all home with me.

The player who wants to leave could release their Starter, and then retrieve it later if they decide to return.

Many players do leave the game for a while, then come back later.

I also hate to see pets left starving in un-used accounts. What I do is go through the pets that are for public sale, buying those that are in un-used accounts. It seems like a waste of gold, but I think about the fact that if that player does decide to return, they will have a nice sum of gold to get started playing Sylestia again.
