Welcome ladies and gents, children of all ages!
To...

Coda's Creative Contests!

Why, hello Sylestia! I'm Coda, your local lurker and Giveaway fanatic!! Sorry if I use too many exclamation points, but I am truly ecstatic to be holding this contest. I hope you'll enjoy participating!

About me!

I'm between the ages of 13 and 20. I absolutely adore certain colors of brown. I love music, specifically classical.if you think it's boring and slow, I have over a dozen songs that say otherwise I like making people smile and laugh, as well as feel confident and special. Enough about me though.

IT'S CONTEST TIME!

Mission: Jupiter

The first contest will be a pet designing contest! There is a catch; you must listen to and get inspiration from this song by Gustav Holst!

How to play:

1. Go to the Generator
2. Open Jupiter: Bringer of Jollity in another tab
3. Create a pet while listening to the song
4. Enter your design in this thread!

Form for entrance:
Must be used for your entry to count

What did you like/dislike about the song?*:

*how you answer this will be taken into account while judging!

Of course, we have to have a reward! Since it is Mission: Jupiter, I have decided to go with a planet-themed prize package! First place will win first choice of 3 planets, 2nd place will win their choice of 3 remaining planets, and 3rd place will receive the remaining 2 planets!

Who Is That?

I commissioned this art long ago, when I was more into feral characters. I have no character for it, and it seems to not be selling, so I'll just give it away to one of y'all! I have a goldfish memory, and do not remember whom I commissioned it from. Anyone who's able to find the artist (on Flight Rising) I will pay a small finding fee!

Anyway, here's what you do!

1. Find a character for this canine
2. Write a 1+ paragraph description of the personality/looks of this character
3. Write at least 3 paragraphs of backstory for this character
4. Post it here using this form!

FaQ

Q: How many sentences has to be in a paragraph?
A: At least five sentences. That would equal about 20 sentences, which I don't think is unreasonable.

Q: What all should I add into my description? Isn't the appearance of the character already there?
A: I'm going to answer those questions with more questions. Is this character nice or are they mean? Are they in a pack, or do they wander? What's their favorite food? Stuff like that. As for the appearance, that's actually a great question! Even though there's already art, it's not super detailed. Does this character have any scars? Tattoos? Is their fur sparkly, dusty, thick, or shedding? Is this their summer or winter coat? I could go on and on, but I think you get it.

Q: What point of view are we supposed to write in?
A: Whatever you are most comfortable with writing in!

Q: What about the backstory? What's supposed to be in that?
A: Was this canine's life difficult, or were they born with a silver spoon in their mouth? Are they actually a wolf/dog, or are they a werewolf/demon/angel/etc. of some sort? What's their goal in life? Do they have a partner? What's the deal with that necklace? Is it just costume jewelry, or is it important? Stuff like that.

Prize
There will only be one winner in this contest, as there's only one character! The winner will receive the character!

Secondhand Raffle

This is a unique raffle. I don't know if many people will enter, due to the nature of this raffle. Here's how this will work.

1. Find some unused items in your inventory.
2. Ping/post here with those items and ask me how many tickets they're worth
3. I'll give you an estimate
4. Send the items my way, and I'll put your tickets in
5. Wait until the raffle is over to see what/if you've won!

Depending on how many items are donated/traded in for tickets, I may have multiple prize baskets.

Prize pool:

Number of people in the raffle: 4
Enter now, and your odds of winning are: 20%

What did you like/dislike about the song?*: I loved how some parts were faster-paced, light, and sweet sounding, which reminded me of the beautiful storms that can be seen on the planet. Others parts sounded large, almost looming, slow, and majestic. Then there were even sections (around the end) that sounded like a combination of both! I do not think there were any parts I didn't like!

I did my best to make my design represent such a complicated song, with it's tail representing the swirling storms, and the mask showing the regalness (is that a word?) of the planet.

Design Image: I'm probably the worst designer in existence.

I said NO NO NO NO DO NOT USE JUPITER COLORS because.... the song does not sound orange...

What did you like/dislike about the song?*: Its sounds very noble and yet delicate, giving me the idea to use either the male lighira, or the qitari. Well, guess Qitari will have to do. (I'm also sure, I've heard part of it before, that part at 2:55ish minutes in, It sound kinda like a part in Lord of the Rings for a moment, can't remember where)

Quick explanation: Puffs feel like they'd be a regal and majestic species (in fact, it says it on the description!) and I chose the colours because they remind me of royalty, and the traits just to make her look extra important!
Edit: This was just before the revamp, so I edited it so the colours don't look so clash-y!
What did you like/dislike about the song?:

Firstly, I Vow To Thee My Country? It's a British hymn thing that has the same tune at around 2:55 ^^ (that was irrelevant to the question, I just recognise it from countlessly singing it at school :P)

I love how important and regal it sounds, and the the strings and wind go really nicely together, especially the tambourine is a really cute touch to the beginning bits! It's also has a varying range of ideas which keeps it interesting, such as the march style beat, and the adventuring type section, as well as the tip toeing quiet bit linking the main first section with the second I-Vow-To-Thee-My-Country section ^^

Is this too long and musical description-like? I take music and I'm used to listening out for bits of song pieces to pick out bits which I like and don't like (but in this case, pretty much all positive, Holst is a great composer!) :P (sorry)

What did you like/dislike about the song?:
I like how every time I listen to it I find a new note, or something interesting, I also like how it jumps moods, it goes calm and then it gives off a happy feeling. I didn't really dislike anything about the song but just that sometimes it'd get really loud, but it's alright.
