UPDATE! this cat was given to my mother - she loved him :D
I'm planning to try and make another one for my crush (though he doesn't deserve one imo!)
recently, the person I'm in love with (doesn't feel the same for me if it matters), had a birthday.
I'm not good at choosing gifts so I decided to make my own.
it turned out I'm not good at that as well. ;_;
didn't sleep. didn't eat. was making this (clickable but I suggest you don't; it looks better from a distance).
not proud of it.
so, if YOU got this for your birthday... would you feel ...offended? D:

I know that feeling. For Christmas I'm giving all my aunt's,grandma's and a few of my far away friends some poinsettia paintings.
To get straight to the point...the first three that I did don't look as good as the rest. And even some of the latest ones aren't the prettiest. But I feel like what matters the most,is that you tried; that's what really matters. You went out of your way to make something special.I don't know your friend but I feel like they would feel special knowing that you went out of your way to go and make them something.
And...they say that homemade gifts are the best ones!^^
On another note,Happy Holidays and early Merry Christmas!
Edit:Opps I forgot it was a b-day >-<"go's back to read what she typed"..oh never-mined

I think it would be great to get that as a present :)
Knowing that someone didn't have to get you anything, yet they decided to get you something is a great feeling!
So I would definitely not be mad about getting that gift:
*also really like the greenness of the eyes <3*

actually, this poorly made cat reminds me of my relationship with the person it was made for:
I tried my best, yet still failed.
*sighs*

So i almost always make homemade gifts for my bff. I very rarely actually buy her anything, because have always felt that homemade gifts are that much more special, because not only did you find something you think they would really like, but you took actual time out of your daily life and actual hours of effort to make it.
One of the first things I ever made her was a full sized pillow stitched entirely by hand (never again) complete with horrible ruffles and barely legible embroidery featuring her initials. I spent almost 2 months on that, and also made her a hand-stitched teddy bear with the remaining fabric. They were both the first times I attempted a large project like that, and I know the stitching was horrible and honestly, I almost didn't give them to her.
That was in 2011-2012ish(senior year of HS). She has her own apartment now, and I went by to hang out with her this summer when i was home from uni. Imagine my surprise when I went into her room and spied, sitting on her bed, all dirty and flattened from use, that same badly stitched pillow i made her in 2011-2012. And in her living room, sitting in plain view, was also that teddy bear i made her.
You may think it is the worst gift possible, and that they aren't going to like it. But that may end up being the one gift they remember 5+ years later, or cuddle with every night when they go to sleep. You never know if you don't give it to them.
EDIT: I found a pic of the bear. don't have the pillow unfortunately. (sorry its blurry)

I would straight up cry tears of joy if I got that little dude as a gift (okay that's a little bit of an exaggeration, but I would seriously love it) It's homemade and it's awkward but endearingly so. If your friend has a thing for homemade gifts, I'd say it's great.

the realistic answer:
depends on the person's standards when receiving the gift.
do they know its homemade? are they picky with stuffed animals in general? are they going to compare it with the other presents they got? are they materialistic as compared to sentimental?
you should perhaps add a card that says what you feel, along with a line that says you made the cat by hand. personalizations are a nice touch!
but at the end of the day, it depends how the person you're giving this to feels. realistically, there's a chance that the person may not act like the case replies in this thread, but i believe that if you took into account what the person likes, then they may like it accordingly.
the cheesy answer:
it's the thought that counts, and that's why handmade gifts are niche these days! it has the cute handmade aesthetic with the stitching, and as someone who doesn't make handmade plushies, i think this is cute.
if i got this, would i be offended?
one big thing about me that may or not be visible to my friends is that i love dogs. so much. i have tons of dog plushies on my bed next to me haha. so, if this were a dog stuffed animal (if a friend of mine gave me a handmade dog plushie, knowing i like dogs), i would love it.
i'd find the look of it...interesting, but if i knew it was handmade (i feel like it would slip someone's mind to tell someone it was handmade), then i would appreciate it for the craftsmanship!
so if a friend of mine gave me a handmade plushie, i wouldn't be offended by it at all, because it was handmade. if it were a dog, it shows that my friend was receptive to a quality of me, that i like dogs, and gives it a personalized touch on top of the handmade quality.
since it's the person you love, i assume you're close to them, and i assume you took into account their likes (colors, kind of cat), and that they would be receptive to a handmade present. i don't think offense would be the first feeling they feel at all!
i hope this helped. i'm not really good at sparing feelings, but i do hope this gives you a better sense of what may go into the present, and not just the looks. ^^

The question, Would I be offended?
This is gonna sound cheesy but true.
Honestly Loki if you tried your best(i see that you did) then you're good. I would not be "offended" to receive this. I would be happy because you put a ton of work into it.
* fades away quietly*
No but seriously it's really good
I clicked it, I don't think it looks bad at all!
