I like to write. but like everyone I'm not perfect.
I wonder if anyone is able to proof read a short story or give me some tips on making it better.

Please PM or ping me.

You must be at least 10th grade. Seriously much younger and I might as well get my brother to do it, sorry everyone. If you wanna read them anyway I'll send them too you.

I love writing, and I enjoy editing.

I'll proof read your work if you want. I go to uni...so technically that means I am beyond 10th grade. Well, we hope.

Bear in mind that I am also not perfect, so if possible you should seek more than one critique.

I'm also slightly busy at the moment, but I will be less busy after the 29th...I don't know if you have a deadline or need it read before then...? Happy to wait?

I could proofread.
I'm in seventh grade, but I'm pretty sure I have better vocabulary and spelling that anyone else in my grade, or almost anyone else.
Actually I'm not in seventh grade anymore XD
I say that because I was last year. I'm going to eighth grade now.

@Amarok when you have time I'd love for a hand, but if you're too busy then that's totally fine too.

@Typh

I'm going into 10th grade, but I like to think I have a fairly vast vocabulary and a solid grammar base to match. I would love to help proofread your stories! ^-^

If you want to then that's cool

In order to try and stop people possibly stealing my work I'll post it here in the open for everyone to read but no one too copy.
If I post them here then there's proof that they are mine, or at least that I posted them first.

Don't mind me I'm paranoid.

You're not paranoid, you're just being smart! Nothing wrong with taking the correct precautions, especially when it comes to copyright material. ^-^

(open to name suggestions)

Claws clashed and teeth gnashed. The sun as fierce as the warriors beneath it. From on high one might think that the battling beasts were in fact the royal treasury, brought to life by a malicious magician.

Firebrand sighed, looking down upon his brethren. This was what his noble race had come to, fighting to the death for the whims of man. He hissed and looked to his companions.

They were a small band, not just in numbers but in size. The largest if the three, Vantix was but half the size of the mighty beasts below them. And the smaller, Skyla, no bigger than the humans mounts.

They were a strange bunch, brought together by a chain of events, all inevitably bringing them here. The battle of Heathcliff, where dragon became one with man and blood spilt across the holy land.

"We have to stop them," Skyla said, eyes locked on the carnage below, "here has to be a way, there just has to be."

"What about the human kings? We could go after them?" Vantix suggested.

"No. That wont work," said Firebrand.

"You have a plan tough dont you? You always have a plan."

He nodded, "I do Sky, I just need some time."

"Times up!" Came Vantixs voice as a great black dragon thundered towards them.

"Charcole! Stop you know us, its me Sky," Skyla tried, silent wings carrying her dangerously close to jet dragons head.

"Sky! Get out of there!" Firebrand said, shooting up and pushing her out of the way, seconds before the giants spiked head made contact. The red dragon wasnt so lucky. His body fell to the ground, body crumpled. Skyla's roar of rage could be heard a hundred kilometers away, lest for the battle below. She lunged at the giant. Cat like claws raked across his eyes and he cried out in pain. Taking advantage of this Skyla shredded his wings. She hissed, darting here and there each time exacting her revenge bit by bit.

"Now!" Came Firebrands weakened voice. Vantix tackled the blinded beast, pushing him off the cliff. plummeted to the ground crashing into the battlefield with a clap of thunder.

The battle ceased and all eyes were on the three young dragons.

"You must stop this!" The red dragon said, supported by his friends. "Your greed has blinded you. You were once a noble race. Do not let these simple creatures control and use you like they might a sword. You are not one of their mounts, to be trained or ridden. Nor one of their dogs to be pitted against each other. This is our home, our sacred place, not a place for man to defile. Fold your wings and look to around you, at your brothers and sisters. Look at the blood you spilt and the unnecessary death you caused."

All was silent for a moment after the young dragons speech. Slowly the dragons raised their heads and cried their rebellion to man.

Alright, here I go!

~this is purely for dramatic effect, but what about "This was what his noble race had been reduced to, fighting...etc"

~ Comma after Vantix in 3rd paragraph

~ "no bigger than the humans mounts" should be "no bigger than the humans' mounts" (showing possession in plural form using apostrophe)

~ Perphaps a better way of phrasing this (4th paragraph): " They were a strange bunch brought together by a chain of events, all of which inevitably brought them here." Eh nevermind, it sounded better in my head :P

~Quotation marks for character speak (I don't know if you puposely left them out to give it more of a "creature-like speach" Up to you)

~ Don't forget to show posession using an apostrophe: seconds before the giant's spiked head made contact.

~Missing the apostrophe: The red dragon wasn't so lucky.

~In the first of the two largest paragraphs, you're missing the hyphen: Cat-like claws raked...

~Same paragraph, add a comma: Taking advantage of this, Skyla...

~Probably just an accidental period (I added a few words to fix), and add comma:
Vantix tackled the blinded beast, pushing him off the cliff and sending him plummeting to the ground, crashing into the battlefield with a clap of thunder. (A bit of a run-on sentence, but I think it's still grammatically correct ^-^ )

Besides that, THIS WAS AWESOME! I'm a huge dragon fanatic and they appear very often throughout all my art and literature! ^-^

EDIT: You fixed the speach marks, nevermind!
