I've looked at numerous breeding guides before, but I have a question. :/
So, lets say I bred these two Vulnyxs...
The first one, Silva, was genetically tested by her previous owner, so I know what traits she carries. Meanwhile, Camahara has not been tested, so the only gene I know he has is Clouded Leopard.
However, the offspring of these two turned out to be this:
I have went back to check Silva's second mutation, but it was a carried Nekomata Tail, or CC, if you will. So, there is no way for her to have the carried Jeweled Collar (BB). Am I right about this? :U
So does this mean that Camahara has to have a carried Jeweled Collar mutation? If so, then does that mean that any carried trait + a different carried trait = a possibility of the offspring having the visible, dominant trait?
Sorry that this went on for so long, I've just been confused by this. xD

Check both pets 'lineage' button, see which family member(s) have/carry. Or, I can test Camahara for you for free and see what he's hiding? :)

Basically, yes.
In this case, mom has NC and dad evidently has NB (since nothing is visible on the male and the baby ended up with the collar)
The possible outcomes for the baby are:
N from mom and N from dad (NN or no trait)
N from mom and B from dad (NB)
C from mom and N from dad (NC)
C from mom and B from dad (BC) - which is what this baby got
Now if you breed this baby it will either give B or C to it's offspring.
This is why knowing what's carried is important when breeding. Also remember that if a pet isn't tested any visible traits will automatically show as being homozygous (ie AA, BB, etc) when in fact they may have a hidden/carried trait.
Hope that helps!

Thank you both! I think I've gotten a better understanding of how this works. C:
And Immortallight, if that isn't too much trouble, I really would appreciate it. ^^ One of these days, I'm gonna get around to buying that genetic testing kit.
Thanks again!
