In the inventory you can sell unwanted items, but a lot of times I discard the wrong things *this time it hit me because I discarded a luff essence* I'm suggesting a confirm button so its easier not to make that mistake. I find this especially useful for tablet users, since /normally/ have a harder time pressing buttons.

If so, I would think make it either optional or make it where it's only certain items that have the pop up. Like essences I can see having that message. But on the other hand there's low level potions, elixirs, etc. that I would rather not have pop ups for as fast as they can accumulate. This might be a bit more of a concern with very full inventories though.

Also, with equipment, I usually try to just quickly clean out all the gear I don't want to keep so I can get back to the game. I could understand something though like mythical armor having a pop up warning. But I wouldn't want to do it for all the rest of the gear.
