I'm sure this happens to several people. You get a themed pet that you really want with one of your favorite traits, BUT... it's hidden behind something gnarly...
A Philter of Recessive Visibility would let you turn the recessive trait into the visible one instead, by removing the more dominant visible trait.
For example, this Lucky Scarab Ryori.
Beneath the Ethereal Ribbons she has Cyberpunk Wings. And I looooove Cyberpunk Wings. Such a philter would allow me to turn the hidden recessive into a visible, ultimately turning her into this:
*Marked as "themed only" to keep it from being insanely overpowered for long-term projects.
*Could also let it count as the pet being mutated, meaning lesser/greater genetic mutators can't be used if the Recessive Visibility philter has been used previously, and vice versa. Or if possible have it work for EXCLUSIVE only, since they can't be mutated anyway.

I love this idea! The thing is, I never know the recessive trait is there XD

You can determine any recessive traits by looking at the image code of a pet that has been genetically tested. ;)
The segment for m2=AH gives the details of the traits in that slot. In this case, M2 A = Ethereal Armor, M2 H = Cyberpunk Wings. So, Visible Ethereal Armor with recessive Cyberpunk Wings.
The easiest way to check which trait is which would be the pet generator or the advanced search, and always the traits go alphabetically for dominance.
The advanced search will also show any recessive traits on a genetically tested pet. The letter color for a visible trait will be purple instead of blue, and it will have two different letters rather than the same one twice.
>.> I focus on breeding, so I love how they set up the genetics for traits. ^^

honestly I would have little use for this if it only worked on Themed pets, since so many of them don't carry these days. I would love to be able to use it on my bred projects though...

I really like the idea of this philter~ I hope it would be for all tamed themes though, since it seems like 90% of the exclusive themed don't have hiddens anymore (which makes me very sad). Keeping it themed only stops it from becoming overpowered, though, which I really like. Slight bit of added ease without making breeding for a certain outcome ridiculously easy ^.^

I would love this. If it's considered too overpowered maybe it could be kept more rare.

Funny, in Life Science we just learned about dominant and recessive genes ^^ I think this is a really cool idea!

I support this since it has the restriction for themed pets only. ^^ It'd be nice to get hidden traits back in exclusives too. o:
@Xavion,
I actually made a simple chrome extension a while back (but released publicly more recently) that can display what hidden traits a pet has with a click of a button, if that's easier than the url.
