How do you get scales?

You get them by nurturing eggs and hatchlings. Any egg or hatchling will get you a scale if you nurture them correctly.

Following up on that, nurtures are as follows

Eggs:
Restless- Turn
Warm- Cool
Dull- Polish
Cool- Warm

Hatchlings:
Restless- Play With
Hungry- Feed
Derpy- Read a book
Weak- Work out With
Slow- Race With
I think that's all of them. XP
