(keep in mind, this is an unfinished story, and a rough draft.)

"My name is Kellic Wolfborn. As the name might suggest, I wasn't exactly born human. Or, I was, and that was the start of my problems," the shaggy haired man with the piercing green eyes said, staring off into the distance as though far from where he actually was.

"We did not ask for you to tell us about your problems! We asked you a question, answer it, or we will be forced to MAKE you answer!" A younger man, clean cut, blue of eye and yellow of hair snapped.

The shaggy haired man glanced at him, eyes soft, and smiled. Or, that is to say, he pulled his lips away from his teeth in a motion mocking a smile, and resembling the baring of teeth. He glanced back over his shoulder at the tears in the pitiful excuse for a shirt he wore, remnant of, really. By the stains crusting the edges of each tear, it could be imagined that underneath, his skin was much the same. Battered and torn.

"You see how well that worked out for you, the last time," Kellic laughed, a dry sound without mirth, once more turning his eyes on the younger man.

"Let him speak, this is the first sound we've heard out of him since he got here," another man, this one dark of hair and eye urged quietly, and the younger man waved a dismissive hand.

"Continue, then, but you try my patience!" The yellow haired man snapped.

"See, where my pack was from, humans were heard of, but not something any had seen with their own eyes. They knew to stay off from them like they knew to stay off from a cranky grizzly bear. I was born like any other wolf cub, only human looking. I wasn't born to the alpha, either, which should have totally sealed my fate," Kellic rambled, running a dirt caked hand through what tangles of his dark, matted hair would allow themselves to be parted.

"This has no relevance to our questions!" The younger man roared, standing up so suddenly that the chair he had been sitting on fell over backwards.

Kellic merely turned those eyes of his back on the young man, seeming not to be bothered by his display of temper. The dark haired man also stood quickly, trying to pacify the younger man. Although the two wore similar uniforms, the younger had symbols on his shoulder marking him as higher rank. The two uniformed men spoke in a language which was not one Kellic understood, but he seemed not to take any interest, in any case. He sat on the flimsy stool he had been provided, and stared off into the distance once more.

"Please, allow me to just listen. If he says anything important, I will immediately call you, sir," the man dark of hair and eye urged, and the yellow haired man glared at Kellic.

"Fine. I don't have the time to waste listening to this drivel," the younger man sneered, and Kellic ignored him completely.

"Please, continue, Kellic, was it?" The dark haired man urged, picking up the fallen chair and sitting down.

"I wasn't either of the alpha's get. My mama had met a lone stranger while out hunting, and brought back more than a dead jackrabbit. About two months later, she had me. It was the perfect time, since the alphas had just lost their litter, and were willing to let my mama's indiscretion slide. The way I was told it, the female alpha was slathering at the mouth for a pup to raise of her own. That partially saved me. Another thing that saved me, much as I hate to admit, is that along with me, my mama had another wolf pup born. I had a brother.

When we were first born, mama tried to hide us, knowing the alphas were the ones to have the pups, the rest of the pack was lucky to get to watch after the pups when they were old enough. But raising two pups herself, one hairless and strange looking, did not last long. Someone found us out, and before mama knew it, the alpha male was snarling at her den, ready to kill the two of us, and maybe even mama, too. But the female alpha also found out, and wanted to raise us as her own. Until she saw me, that is. But thankfully, mama was one of those 'all or none' wolves. If the alphas thought they were going to kill one of her pups, they would have to do so after killing her. It was right after she actually stood to both alphas, that they saw my brother. Golden furred, he was like a tiny sun. Truly the golden child humans are always talking about. When she saw him, the alpha wanted him for her own. Mama allowed her to take him, so long as they left me alone. For whatever reason, the alphas agreed, and my life was spared.

I grew like a normal wolf cub, not slow like the human I looked like. Because I lacked fur, I learned to be quick to avoid the teeth and claws of the pack. Not that they were rough with me, not at all. A nip I often got would have only dented the fur of a proper wolf, but would leave my furless skin torn and bleeding. I also think the pack treated me a little better because my mama was tough enough to stand down both the alphas. When I first came out of the den, like any other wolf pup, curious and full of wonder at the world, the pack had some issue with how strange I looked. But a couple warning snarls from mama, and they ignored me like they did my brother, now the alpha's pup," Kellic continued, flicking his gaze to that of his dark eyed audience of one.

"Truly amazing, that you were raised by wolves!" The other man exclaimed, before seeming to remember himself.

"Even though I looked human, I was still wolf. And I didn't stay furless for long. No, part of me growing up was learning that there were more than two forms to walk around in," Kellic answered, with a ghost of a real smile gracing his lips.

"Please, do continue," the uniformed man urged, and Kellic nodded thoughtfully.

"It wasn't until we were learning to hunt, and I'm not even sure why I was allowed to go, except everyone in the pack needs to know to pull their own weight. I wasn't near as strong as the rest, and my teeth were not made to be tearing pieces out of prey. But there I was, crouching next to the young golden wolf who used to be my brother, watching the pack hunt down dinner in the form of a deer.
