I think it would be nice if we could use a philter on our pets that could change carried traits to visible. I assume this would have to be hard to come by, or it would be game-breaking. I also think it should only be able to be used on bred or tamed pets. (at least not generated pets, as that would ruin the values of higher essences)

I'd support this if it was ONLY for tamed pets.
IF it was for bred pets it would still be kinda game braking...cause then it would be far to easy to do 6 vis projects there by devaluing 6 vis projects and rendering them nearly pointless, especially if more than one could be used on the same pet.

Another idea of what could keep this from breaking the game would be if it only worked about 75% of the time. I like the only tamed pet deal but I think it should exclude themes because it would make the ones with only one carry less valuable in general.

I'd support, but only if it was for tamed pets only, and one use per pet, like the mutators.

Only if this was a 'one-use' only and for unbred, un-themed, tamed pets

Support for tamed pets in general, including themed. Mutators work on themed, why not this?
One per pet, though.

If this ADDS the second slot to make the gene visible, then it really could be game changing for breeders going for more visibles.
On the other hand, if this simply makes a CARRIED GENE visible (ie, the pet still only has one gene rather than the two it usually requires to show a gene), but the philter makes that gene visible without adding the second gene, this would NOT affect breeding at all. I'd support it in that case, actually.
Further, if this would allow a hidden gene to be visible OVER a more dominant gene, I would LOVE this philter! lol. And again, this would not affect breeding at all, since only the original genes would still be present, your not adding or subtracting anything from the pet's genetic profile, just changing what is functionally visible.
Ok, maybe the above is clear as mud, lol... so examples;
1) this is a morkko given by a friend from one of her projects;
This philter would allow for the carried Brindle to be shown, WITHOUT adding a second gene to the slot. The genetic profile would remain the same, the pet would just now have three visible traits.
The filter would again, NOT change the genetic profile above in the slightest, but would allow you to choose one of the recessive traits and flip it to make the recessive trait visible. For example, you could choose the Mutation 3 slot, and make the Elegant Feathered Wings (C) show over the regular Feathered Wings (A). While this would kind of negate much of the hard work needed to make certain genes show through breeding, it might also help keep some pets from ending up released, because the wrong trait carried through and is visible. I know I for one would absolutely LOVE a philter that would do this, especially if there is another one that could reverse it down the line.
Again, if the philter doesn't actually change the genetic profile, just makes a recessive gene visible... that would be wonderful! I honestly think this would be less of a game changer than the gender swap we already have, or the genetic mutators that DO add a gene.
