As many of you know I lost my large/giant breed Service Dog in Training Noah. I miss him very much. However after a respectible amount of time(6+ months) has passed I would like to add a new animal companion to the family.

Currently my family, and I have my toy breed service dog Gwendolyn, and my fiance's esa cat Jaku.

Now due to the recentish passing of my brother kitty Logan(almost two years ago now), our family has agreed that we can't get another cat/kitten as Jaku, and I are still missing Logan very much. And with Noah's passing being so recent a nother dog/puppy(even a small one) most likely wouldn't be best either.

Where I live you need a note to have animals from a medical professional. However there are still animal companions that aren't permited even then, and they are:

Birds(can't have cause of our kitty anyway)
Rats, rabbits, mice, or any other type of rodent(also can't have because of Jaku)
Farm type animals(chicken, duck, ect)
Aracnid(for many reasons).
Large full scale aquariums(can cause mold/water damage if broken)

So what I'm looking for as far as suggestions go are animal companions that might be less common, but still reasonably easy to find.

I've been thinking of resuming my goal for a snake, but I'm not sure.

When giving your suggestion(s) please give me a few links to information on said animal please so i can figure out how well said animal might be as a match for my family.

Well , although I do not know a lot about service animals, I am a reptile fanatic , I have 4 snakes of my own, 1 lizard (as of now anyway planning to get plenty more June when I go to the reptile expo that's coming up) and plenty of frogs & salamanders(although those are amphibians, I figured they were still worth mentioning). Snakes can be wonderful pets to have if you chose the right one , idk if you've ever owned one but a corn snake is probably the best beginner snake out there . Also have you considered a ferret , they are really playful and great companions , also ferrets are known to play and get along with cats , I used to have two, Momo and Sampson and they were really both amazing , they died a couple years ago , I hope what I said helps :)

I love reptiles too, I always have. :)

I have had one snake, Belle a ball python. However that was before I had my daughter and I was forced to rehome Belle.

I would LOVE to have a ferret(s), however in the state of california ferrets are illegal to own. :(

I like corn snakes, but they are a tad too small for me. I feel like I'm going to hurt them just by petting them, but they are great companions.

What kind of lizard to you have?

Savannah Monators are soo cute/pretty! ^.^ Can't say I've seen many of them in my area though.

I'd love to get a Hedgy, but they are kinda hard to come by in my area of Ca, and I also have like no knowledge on them as a pet. Thankfully the internet I'm sure would be able to help with that.

King snakes are also one of those critters that I feel like I'm going to hurt by petting the because of their size, even though I know just petting them won't hurt them.

I'm not sure what Belle was, i just know she was a ball python and I loved her lots. I do know that I really want an axthanic ball python someday. I've even concidered becoming a breeder when I move to a place that has the room, because I love ball pythons so much.

Do you have any morph suggestions? Or recomendations on the best way to get a ball python? I need one that's for certian a female.

Well Im not quite sure what your looking for as far as morphs , Ive gotten a little into breeding them , but the best place to look for them is reptile expos in your area which you can easily search and look up where there at and when on google. :) Although , I love lavender albino ball pythons, axanthic's are boss XD

There's normally a huge exotic pet/reptile expo in Sacramento(3 hours away from where I live), that I have been wanting to go to, and smaller expo that happens at the local fair grounds...hopefully I'll be able to make it to the local one this year, it takes place in like fall I think.

Are there any breeders that you would recomend? At least to talk to?

Not really , anybody with years of experience at the expo would be a good idea , everyone I go through is local to NY as of now.
