I've now opened up two separate crates that gave me absolutely nothing, along with this sequence in the log:
[11:32:05 PM] You have found a Wooden Crate. What do you wish to do?
[11:32:06 PM] You interact with the Wooden Crate.
[11:32:06 PM] You have found an item: !
[12:27:39 AM] You have found a Wooden Crate. What do you wish to do?
[12:27:41 AM] You interact with the Wooden Crate.
[12:27:41 AM] You have found an item: !
I just wanted to make sure that it's known about, despite it being only an occasional occurrence and a minor bug at most!
EDIT: Third instance
[01:00:36 AM] You have found a Wooden Crate. What do you wish to do?
[01:00:38 AM] You interact with the Wooden Crate.
[01:00:38 AM] You have found an item: !

That happens if your inventory or equipment is full, did you check on that?
