I defeated a common sylesti, then there was a glitch where it told me i had a new item in my inventory (maybe i forgot to check it before) I saw nothing in there. What happened .-.

You probably got an equipment item, go to your Equipment, and you will see what you got.

You might have gotten a copy of an item you already have, like an experience orb, avatar item, or essence. While equipment does not stack, inventory items do and so you will not see the item because it is already in the stack.
