I was wondering what normally how much different types of pets are going for.

it would depend their traits and colors and if they're themed from a certain festival or just regular bred offspring.
the best way is to go to the advanced search, use the filters to find what you want (ie Species drop down menu to look for specific species), then look for the ones that are on sale (ie For Sale: yes), and see what the prices are like.

In general, the newer the trait, the more it is worth and also the more popular the trait. That is just a general guideline, however. As Flute said, you should really look at advanced search to get an idea of the market.
