I might be a female, but that bent leg makes for a rather simpering look, it looks painful too. I don't think I've ever seen anyone actually stand in a 'curtsey' position. I sure hope not, the strain on your lower back and almost all the ligaments and tendons between your upper lower lumbar and the part of the hamstring behind your knees would be extreme and painful and it wouldn't take long to get that way.

Can we have some more natural stances, please?

I think we need some more stance options and also I think we need the option to hold things with the arm in the down position. Dunno about you, but if I had to hold something up like that all the time, I'd never bother picking it up. It's much more common for people who are going to hold things for a long time to do it with their arms lowered.

Maybe sheathed swords could be worn at the waist or over the back instead of held? Some items could go on a stand next to the avatar? Backgrounds would be nice, too...that way some of the standed items could be showcase pieces.

sounds cool, maybe some sitting positions might be even cooler....though that might end up in a remake of alot of the avatar clothing items to suit the positioning.

I believe Krin has said this is not really possible due to the fact that this would mean a redraw of every single item in the wardrobe and that they really do not have the time or the money to do this at the moment. and with the Redraws of the starter pets there is already a lot of art reworking happening for the site.

I do know a lot of people who would like this idea, I just think that, for Krin and Fai, there are more important things to work on :)

As willow said, while this would be a good idea, it would put a lot of stress on the team. Sylestia is run by a very small team. Unlike Gaia, which I don't even know how many people are behind that site, where items are automatically put out with all of the poses [arm poses, sit/stand/ forward/backward], The pixelists on here are putting their time into other aspects of the site and adding this in would take a massive amount of time. Maybe in the future once the team is bigger and the site is easier to run behind the scenes. I think I've seen Krin talk about having to recode things himself one line at a time for things on here! I don't know anything about coding but I know that it's not easy.

There is actually a sheathed sword item on waist/back (katanas of the rolling storms)
There are some mini-backgrounds as well, with the spooky, and full moon backgrounds from the festival. As these types of backgrounds are newish, I think we will see more of them in the future. edit: Sylestia is not too old of a website, so I'm sure the variety of items will increase as time goes on. ^^

While changing poses will not happen, perhaps they may fix the female leg at some point.

It's too bad they can't do it, I really don't know why that pose is considered feminine. It's not a natural thing for a human to do. I just use the male avatar although my avatar is still female. I still think she looks like a girl from the hair.

I'm gonna hop in and be honest here. ..I keep seeing people say the female pose isn't natural. I see it as the avi is placing all weight on the left leg and letting the right hang semi freely. Tbh, I have caught myself standing like this many times. It is a natural resting position for me. So saying it "isn't natural" is something I don't agree with =/ it's actually a pretty comfortable position to stand in. ..

That being my two cents, I personally don't mind the females position. ..I think it is a cute pose, and as said before, adding new poses would be a nightmare.

Here is a simple solution for the leg:

Create a female avatar (as in, with breasts) standing the same way as the male. It eliminates the weird position and still allows people to choose the female avatar. It should cause a lot less issues in adjusting the avatar items to fit, because a lot of the items operate exactly the same for the male and the female, except for the leg position on certain items.

It's not a perfect solution mind, since some items would still need to be adjusted for the leg position, but it's something.

I actually love the stance. To me it is a little dainty and cute. I never thought of it as an awkward stance.

Granted Options are always nice, but I'd much rather have the team focus on other improvements than spend a huge chunk of time just to change a stance.
